SILY 666- Old Testament Laws Explained

For most of us, reading the Old Testament is not fun. All of those names and laws are difficult to read and are the reason many who have tried reading the Bible from cover to cover often fail once they get to Leviticus. Those books do serve a purpose, though, and today we’ll explore that. It’s a bit of a deep dive, but because the laws are so misunderstood by today’s culture, it’s important we take the time to explore this fully.

Visions of the Future

What happens when ordinary people are granted extraordinary glimpses into the darkest corners of reality? Both “The Purple Testament” and “What’s in the Box” explore the terrifying burden of unwanted knowledge.

SILY 665- Monday Mailbag

Thanks to Geoff for sharing his struggles today. Especially for men, I think, it’s hard for us to admit we need help and accept that help. That mentality is often detrimental to our wellbeing. Geoff has shown us an example of humility and wisdom in action.

S4E14 The End of All Things

We are joined by Jerame for this episode as we discuss one of the best, most pivotal episodes of Fringe! Join us as we talk about what we love about this episode (especially the fact that we finally, after 75 episodes, find out “who or what” the Observers are) but also a couple of things that have us feeling just a tad frustrated.

SILY 664- Establishing Healthy Habits

Sometimes we fail to allow grace in our own lives. Once we miss or fail for any reason, we allow those feelings of failure to defeat us causing us to miss more often or quit altogether. It’s important to understand you will miss the mark sometimes. It’s equally important to think about that up front so that you have an understanding and a plan for how to respond and get right back to keeping up the good habit you’re trying to maintain.

SILY 663- The Bookstore Mutiny

I struggled for a long time about whether or not to share this story with you because I felt like it was a story that was not very common and therefore not very applicable. But then I realized this story is very common. If you peel back the layers a bit here, you realize that the first step was the thoughts in the mind of one or more of the employees. They were disgruntled for whatever reason and allowed those thoughts to fester.

MOS 56 – S3E15 – In Search of Lost Time

MOS 56 – S3E15 – In Search of Lost Time

In a perfect use of a “Superman: The Movie” quote, the son becomes the father and the father becomes the son in this week’s episode “In Search of Lost Time,” as J’onn and M’yrnn come face to face with the reality of M’yrnn’s deteriorating memory and the damage it causes to those around him. We also get reality checks for Sam as she faces her Reign alter-ego and for Kara who lets Mon-El exactly what his actions did to her in the past. Yet, even among all of these weighty issues, this episode had a lightness and sense of humor that make our Supergirl show all it can be. Read more…

FC128- Best Horror Movie Endings, Part 1

A couple of firsts happening here! First first: spoilers aplenty! Yes, we are going to spoil some shit today. Why? Because we are covering the final moments in some horror movies, but not just any final moments and not just any horror movies. Nay, we say. We are going to talk through those final ticks of the clock that inarguably elevated each and every one of these films above all expectations.

Well, maybe we can argue since we’re joined by Hellbent for Horror’s S.A. Bradley, and we don’t always agree. Read More…

Join us for show news, commentary and analysis for “Option Two,” Faith’s CoulSass moments, and our listener feedback segment! This week we talk about Mack’s focus on the present, Deke’s underappreciated skills, Daisy’s inconvenient absence, Talbot’s surprising rise to power, Fitz’ “canary in the coal mine” theory, and Elena’s realization about the uselessness of having killed Ruby.
