In “Execution”, condemned killer Joe Caswell escapes his own 1880 hanging when a scientist’s time machine hurls him into 1960, but the noose he dodges finds another neck when a cornered criminal stumbles into that same lab. In “A Hundred Yards Over the Rim”, pioneer Christian Horn crosses a ridge in 1847 searching for medicine for his dying son and lands on a 1961 highway, where a diner and a stranger hold both a cure and a glimpse of the boy’s future. One man escapes justice by trading it away. The other bends time itself for love. Which crossing costs more?
