With only 3 episodes left and following hot on the heels of the death of Root, Amy Acker came home to Dallas to mingle with fans at Fan Expo Dallas. Amy spent much of the day signing autographs for the horde of fans waiting to get a personal moment with the actress we all love.
As the day neared completion, Amy was given the largest room at the convention and spent nearly 45 minutes answering fan questions. Fans from Australia, China, Japan, and other corners of the globe came to share this special moment with Amy Acker. Amy was asked questions about her roles on Angel, Dollhouse, Cabin in the Woods, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and, of course, Person of Interest.
Most of the questions centered around her time on Person of Interest, but were not just focused on the shocking turn of events in the 100th episode. Fans asked her about her audition and her first appearance on the show, and they asked her about her special moments on screen with Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) and Sameen Shaw (Sarah Shahi). Other questions focused on the alter-egos that Root portrayed, the season opening monologue that we thought was the voice of Root, and hints at what might take place as our beloved series comes to a close in just 3 episodes.

I was there for that Q&A session. She did a really good job, there were a lot of fans there and they welcomed Amy home to Dallas in a great way.
As much as I was dying (sorry Root/Amy, no pun intended) to listen to this, I downloaded it, heard the Darrell warning about the potential spoiler factor near the end of the p-cast, then decided to sample a few minutes at the start. The audio was really kind of poor, so I decided to wait a few weeks until it is all over to catch the Acker-Panel AND not get spoiled. You know, a listen on the backside of the finale – more as a nostaglia listen than a here-and-now event.
I hope a more audible version of the panel is available soon. Maybe GSM can ask for some ‘pro-bono’ love from another attendee with a more refined recording. Maybe Fusco can refine the recording – he seems to be an audio whiz-kid recently.
DocH sorry you didn’t like the quality of the recording, but you’re not going to find a better quality unless the audio team from Fan Expo Dallas releases an official version. This panel was in a 10,000 seat area so there’s no way to avoid echo. I had a great seat right in line with the speakers with a directional mic aimed right at the speakers. As for the spoilers, the biggest one was about her involvement with S5E11. So if you’ve seen S5E11, you don’t need to worry about spoilers.
