S4E16 Nothing as it Seems

Nothing is as it seems this week because it’s just the two of us – no special guest! We discuss the return of Porcupine Man from “The Transformation” and how we feel about how he is handled. We agree that it isn’t necessarily a highlight episode and we point to a scene especially that seems a bit contrived. We also voice some frustrations about the leaps in logic that this episode makes, but don’t worry, this is still Fringe, though, so we definitely also have plenty of good things to say!

SILY 668- Disorganized Progress

Who do you think of when you think of a highly organized person? Perhaps you’re like me and think of a TV or movie character like Monica Geller or Claire Dunphy. You know who doesn’t come to mind? ME! For today’s story let’s jump into the time machine and go back to the early days of my career at the bookstore.

SILY 667- Failure to Communicate

George Bernard Shaw said, “The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” Communication is tricky. On one hand, we are all communicating something, verbal or non-verbal at all times. On the other hand, I think most of us have significant room to grow in this area. I think most communication issues arise not from things said, but from things unsaid.

S4E15 A Short Story About Love

We hope that you have fearless… auditory passages (?) because we are here to share a short story about love along with frequent feedbacker Eric (or Eric from Pennsylvania as you’d prefer). This was such a fun episode to record especially since we love some aspects of this episode and not so much others. We love that we get some counterbalancing feedback from Geoff (xforce11) as well as some feedback from Rory, Anna (not Torv), Erin, ShelkyBean, and Patty from Canadia!

SILY 666- Old Testament Laws Explained

For most of us, reading the Old Testament is not fun. All of those names and laws are difficult to read and are the reason many who have tried reading the Bible from cover to cover often fail once they get to Leviticus. Those books do serve a purpose, though, and today we’ll explore that. It’s a bit of a deep dive, but because the laws are so misunderstood by today’s culture, it’s important we take the time to explore this fully.

Visions of the Future

What happens when ordinary people are granted extraordinary glimpses into the darkest corners of reality? Both “The Purple Testament” and “What’s in the Box” explore the terrifying burden of unwanted knowledge.

Spaceman Listener Feedback

Spaceman Listener Feedback

This was our favorite episode of Debris so far, so we expected excellent feedback from our listeners and were not disappointed! We got a full plate of nachos including Doug, Linda, Patty from Canadia, Julie, Geoff (xforce11), Brian (Zeppelin Driver), Bradley, John, Kome, and Barb, and we also heard from many of you via Twitter and Facebook! Our listeners raise questions such as what some of the characters’ (such as Maddox and Ferris) motivations are, how Finola and Bryan are going to proceed and unite in order to go against the nefarious business that their superiors seem to be up to, and why George Jones covers himself with aluminum foil at the very end of the episode. They also touch upon the emotional confrontation between Finola and her father in the hotel room and the fact that George seems to be anxious and scared by the mention of Garcia’s name. As is always the case every single week, the feedback is so excellent, and we don’t think that you will want to miss it! If you would like to be featured in a future listener feedback episode of the podcast yourself, be sure to hit us up via one of our contact methods! Read More…

Spaceman Review and Breakdown

Spaceman Review and Breakdown

We are both in agreement this week that this is our favorite episode of Debris so far! It offers so much high-octane excitement from start to finish, answering so many questions and also asking some new ones. We finally learn (or do we?) how George Jones is still alive and what Influx wanted with him, but we also now have to wonder what is going on with Brill’s face and why he seems to have a double. Has he been teleporting like Influx has been doing, causing his skin to deteriorate like what we saw happening to Loeb a few episodes ago? How are Finola and Bryan going to proceed now that they are apparently on the run from their superiors? We touch upon these and so many other points this week as we break down and review this phenomenal episode, and we cannot wait to see where the rest of the season is headed after this game-changing episode!
