S1E11 Bound

S1E11 Bound

You are bound to enjoy our discussion of this high-octane episode of Fringe! Although we both agree that the cliffhanger from the last episode is wrapped up a bit too early here and that the exposition is a bit too heavy-handed, this episode moves at anything but a sluggish pace and left us with plenty of new questions when it first aired thirteen years ago. What was ZFT trying to accomplish by killing immunologists with this super-sized slug (which apparently wasn’t actually a cold virus according to Walter’s lab notes)? Why did they abduct Olivia? What was the spinal tap for? We were definitely like a question machine!

S1E10 Safe

S1E10 Safe

We hope that you stay safe listening to our discussion this week as we chat about the tenth episode of Fringe’s first season, effectively the mid-season finale given its big cliffhanger and the hiatus that followed. We, as always, talk about our favorite moments and pieces of dialogue from this episode, thoughts that we might have had when we initially watched it vs. what we think now that we have seen the entire series, and so much more!

S1E9 The Dreamscape

S1E9 The Dreamscape

Join Chris and Darrell this week as they enter the dreamscape and talk about killer butterflies, toad venom, corporate conspiracies, faulty memories, and more! We reflect on this memorable episode of Fringe and share our favorite moments from it, how we remembered certain scenes having happened in other episodes, and our frustrations around several conflicts introduced in this episode that were seemingly abandoned by the writers. You can also expect to hear from our regular feedbackers, Geoff (xforce11) and Patty from Canadia, and don’t forget that if you would like to be a part of the listener feedback section and/or would like to be a co-host with us in the future, please contact us via one of the methods listed below! We would absolutely love to hear from you!

S1E8 The Equation

S1E8 The Equation

Mitchell Loeb is back and is up to no good again as he now orchestrates the abduction of a young boy to extract the solution of an equation from him. We, as always, reflect on this episode and what thoughts we remember having when we first saw it and what thoughts we have now, theorize about who or what we think the Walter doppelganger is at St. Claire’s, and so much more! Keep in mind that if you would like to be a part of the listener feedback section and/or would like to be a co-host with us in the future, please contact us via one of the methods listed below! We would love to hear from you!

S1E7 In Which We Meet Mr. Jones

S1E7 In Which We Meet Mr. Jones

It’s time to finally meet David Robert Jones, the Big Bad of Fringe’s first season! This is a game-changing episode of the first season as we learn a little bit more about The Pattern and who is behind it and also hear Walter tell a captivating and enthralling story about fruit cocktail. We talk about our memories of having first seen this episode and our initial reactions to it vs. our reactions now (including how utterly disgusting that huge parasite is) and so much more.

S1E6 The Cure

S1E6 The Cure

We are talking all things “The Cure” – the sixth episode of Fringe’s first season in which a drug company is turning people suffering from a rare and fatal disease into human weapons! We reflect on our favorite moments from this episode and connect some of the possible examples of foreshadowing in it (such as but not limited to the colors blue and red being mentioned more than once) to later revelations in the series. Patty from Canadia also shares her thoughts on this episode and whether or not the fringe science of this episode holds up. Remember that if you would like to be a part of the listener feedback section in the future and/or would like to be a co-host with us, please contact us via one of the methods listed below! We would love to hear from you!

S1E5 Power Hungry

S1E5 Power Hungry

Join us as we have an electrifying discussion about “Power Hungry” – the fifth episode of Fringe’s first season! We talk about Joseph Meegar and how sorry we feel for him as well as some interesting parallels between him and Olivia while also pointing to a couple of poignant lines of dialogue that foreshadow revelations that we get later in the series. We also talk about whether or not the science in this episode holds up and share some fantastic feedback from a couple of our listeners! Remember that if you would like to be a part of the listener feedback section in the future, please contact us via one of the methods listed below! We would love to hear from you!

S1E4 The Arrival

S1E4 The Arrival

It has arrived, although we sure hope that a gigantic metal suppository is not the pinnacle of human achievement! That’s right! We are here to discuss “The Arrival” – the game-changing fourth episode of the first season of Fringe! We take you back to the very first official introduction to September which starts with this episode’s memorable opening scene while, at the same time, looking ahead to future episodes of the series that ended up being connected to this one.

S1E3 The Ghost Network

S1E3 The Ghost Network

We considered using the ghost network to talk about this episode of Fringe but ultimately decided against it, so we are instead coming to you as usual via your favorite podcast app! “The Ghost Network” seemingly introduces us to amber which plays a much larger role later in the series, and it also presents us with another example of someone who was victimized by Walter’s past transgressions as he conducted morally questionable experiments for the military. We also see a shimmer of Olivia’s enhanced Cortexiphan abilities, and we talk about that enigmatic scene between Broyles and Nina near the end. Be sure to stay tuned as listeners also share their thoughts about the episode, and if you would like to be a part of the listener feedback section in the future, reach out to us via one of the contact methods listed below!

S1E2 The Same Old Story

S1E2 The Same Old Story

We’re back to talk about the punnily titled “The Same Old Story” – the second episode of Fringe! This episode introduces us to supersoldiers and clones, both of which will come back into play later in the series, and it also drops another huge hint about Peter’s mysterious history. Olivia is totally beating herself up due to John Scott’s betrayal, but should she be? Meanwhile, a serial killer is on the loose, but why does this particular serial killer capture the attention of our Fringe team?
