SILY 710- Fresh Baked

One year ago, almost to the day, I sat down and wrote about cookies. Except I wasn’t really writing about cookies. I was writing about my daughter. The premise was simple. We all mature at different rates on different things, and just like a good batch of cookies, sometimes we need more time in the oven to become what we’re meant to be. You don’t throw the batch out. You give it more heat and more time. Well, the oven timer has gone off. It’s time to see how the cookies turned out.

S5E12 The Boy Must Live

We are truly nearing the end, cortexifans – so much so that you could make the argument that, even though this isn’t the penultimate episode of our podcast, we are covering the penultimate episode of the series given the fact that 5.12 and 5.13 aired together the same night as a two-hour finale. We talk about this incredibly important episode and all of the answers that it finally gives us alongside Fringe Connections creator Michael London.

SILY 709- Heart of the Matter

Wise. Warrior. Dancer. Husband. Father. Musician. Murderer. Songwriter. Leader. Adulterer. Victim. Full of mercy. Crazy. Cunning. Liar. Full of pride. Humble. All of these words describe the same person. It’s a person I strive to be like, and it’s the subject of today’s story. Intrigued?

Circular History

Is the past truly fixed, or is it merely waiting for someone brave enough to rewrite it? The Twilight Zone loved toying with the idea that time itself might bend for the right person, and few episodes explore that temptation as directly as “The Last Flight” and “No Time Like the Past.”

SILY 708- Surviving Disneyland

Walking out of Star Wars Land after the fireworks, I genuinely wondered if this was the moment we called it a night. We’d been in the parks for over twelve hours. My legs felt like they belonged to someone else and wished I’d find one of those hover chairs from Wall-E to melt into. I was ready to wave a white flag made out of a churro wrapper.

S5E11 Anomaly XB-6783746

While Chris sadly couldn’t make it to this episode, Darrell is joined by special guest Adam to discuss this emotionally heavy episode of Fringe as it winds down to its climax. With only three episodes remaining, Captain Windmark narrows in on the team after discovering that Michael is part of their plan to defeat the Observers, and the result is nothing short of, well… mindblowing.

S1E6 The Cure

S1E6 The Cure

We are talking all things “The Cure” – the sixth episode of Fringe’s first season in which a drug company is turning people suffering from a rare and fatal disease into human weapons! We reflect on our favorite moments from this episode and connect some of the possible examples of foreshadowing in it (such as but not limited to the colors blue and red being mentioned more than once) to later revelations in the series. Patty from Canadia also shares her thoughts on this episode and whether or not the fringe science of this episode holds up. Remember that if you would like to be a part of the listener feedback section in the future and/or would like to be a co-host with us, please contact us via one of the methods listed below! We would love to hear from you!

Elderly Exploits

Elderly Exploits

Stories that focus on the young or the elderly tend to bring us as viewers into an introspective frame of mind. Season 3 of The Twilight Zone gives us two such examples of this. “Kick the Can” blends both the elderly and the young into the storyline, giving us a double punch to ponder the innocence and wonder of childhood in a way that makes us never to grow old in our spirit. “The Trade-Ins” helps us appreciate the ones we cherish most and the life we’ve build together.

TSTP 63- The Piggyback Listener Feedback

TSTP 63- The Piggyback Listener Feedback

With feedback coming in from at least 10 countries and 8 states, this is the most excellent feedback episode we’ve put together yet!  Some felt that Stranger Things 4 was the best season ever, while others felt it was the worst season ever.  However, most of you felt like the season did a lot of things right and can’t wait for Stranger Things 5. One thing that the entire fandom seems to be united on is the heartbreak over the death of Eddie. In this episode we hear some interesting theories about Eddie, as well as some other fun ideas about what may be in store next season. Thanks to all of you who made this episode possible.

TSTP 62- The Piggyback

TSTP 62- The Piggyback

The Stranger Things 4 finale, “The Piggyback,” was full of SO MUCH action, suspense, sadness, exposition, humor, and intrigue!  Coming in at the run time of a full-length movie, we still wanted more! How could the Duffer brothers leave the ending on such a massive cliffhanger?  How could they yet again kill off a major fan-favorite character? Will we ever see Max alive again?
