Back to the Future

Is the line between one era and the next as thin as a single step, a single flash of light, and just as impossible to uncross? This month we cross that threshold with two travelers flung into unfamiliar futures, neither one prepared for what waits on the other side. Both stories ask whether escaping your own time can ever mean escaping your own fate, and whether justice or love holds more power.

SILY 717- The Scorecard Trap

Years ago when I first started podcasting, I would constantly look at the download numbers and as I was pulling them up, I’d get butterflies in my stomach. Downloads up, good day. Downloads down, bad day. I’d refresh the analytics page like it was going to tell me something about my worth as a human being. I eventually saw past that trap and rarely gave my podcasts stats much thought or weight. But last year, I fell back into that trap again.

TSTP 97- The Mine

After Charlie’s terrifying encounter with something in the woods, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will set out on what starts as a school history project filming a mockumentary about town founder Samuel Hawkins, but quickly turns into a full-blown H.I.C. investigation. Join hosts Darrell and Addi as we break down “The Mine.”

SILY 716- The Marketing Myth

We all have a story we tell ourselves about who we are and what we’re capable of. Or what we’re NOT capable of.  Mine started with a bad coworker and calcified over a decade into something I never questioned again, until I was faced with a situation that forced me to look at myself with fresh eyes. Today’s episode is about the slow, quiet way we talk ourselves out of skills we’re fully capable of learning, and what it finally took to prove myself wrong. If you’ve ever believed “that’s just not me,” you’re going to want to hear how this one turned out.

TSTP 96- A Haunting in Hawkins

A petty robbery at the Palace Arcade, a missing town delinquent and a field of eerie bioluminescent flowers blooming in the dead of winter. Something is definitely haunting Hawkins again. Join us as we kick off coverage of Season 2 of Tales From ’85, diving into the premiere episode set during a Valentine’s Day-themed February 1985.

SILY 715- Climbing the Hill

It’s been said that a manual transmission is basically an anti-theft device these days. And it turns out, learning to drive one taught me way more than just how to work a clutch. It took three different people, a driveway full of stalled engines, and one very specific hill in my hometown to teach me something about frustration, trust, and what it really looks like to help someone else find their way. Stick around, because today’s lesson might just change how you show up for the people you love.

Poetic Justice

Poetic Justice

Season 5 of The Twilight Zone brought us two episodes handing out poetic justice to the lead characters. In “A Short Drink from a Certain Fountain,” an aging businessman drinks from a fountain of youth in order to satisfy his much younger, demanding wife. His plan backfires, leaving both of them to deal with life-altering consequences. In “Sounds and Silences,” a toy boat manufacturing executive forces everyone in his life to be constantly subjected to loud noises. His life is turned upside down when he develops hypersensitive hearing, and he’s forced to live his life with highly compromised hearing.

This time, Chris and Darrell are joined by a voice that listeners of the original run of The Fringe Podcast will definitely recognize – the one and only Clint! In Fringe’s first season finale, Olivia notices a connection between The Pattern incidents while Walter and Peter retrieve the only thing that can stop Jones from his ultimate plan.

Best Month to Visit Disney Parks and Cruise

Best Month to Visit Disney Parks and Cruise

There are so many decisions to make when planning a Disney vacation, but choosing when to go may have the most impact on your trip. Ben and Erica are tackling the best month to visit the three major U.S. Disney destinations: Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Disney Cruise Line. Crowd levels, pricing, weather, offerings, and more are important factors in knowing which month makes the most sense for you and your family. Ben and Erica rarely agree on their Disney takes, but could that change on today’s episode?

Would You Date This Disney Character?

Would You Date This Disney Character?

We all love the many fantastic characters that Disney animation has created. Characters like Elsa, Woody, Simba, Maleficent, Gaston are all fun to watch and offer something special. But would you date one? It’s an interesting question. Sure Woody is an adorable doll, but his snarky attitude may be too much to handle on a first date. Jeremiah and Rachel put the names of many of these beloved characters into a hat, then pull two and discuss which one they would rather date.
