SILY 666- Old Testament Laws Explained

For most of us, reading the Old Testament is not fun. All of those names and laws are difficult to read and are the reason many who have tried reading the Bible from cover to cover often fail once they get to Leviticus. Those books do serve a purpose, though, and today we’ll explore that. It’s a bit of a deep dive, but because the laws are so misunderstood by today’s culture, it’s important we take the time to explore this fully.

Visions of the Future

What happens when ordinary people are granted extraordinary glimpses into the darkest corners of reality? Both “The Purple Testament” and “What’s in the Box” explore the terrifying burden of unwanted knowledge.

SILY 665- Monday Mailbag

Thanks to Geoff for sharing his struggles today. Especially for men, I think, it’s hard for us to admit we need help and accept that help. That mentality is often detrimental to our wellbeing. Geoff has shown us an example of humility and wisdom in action.

S4E14 The End of All Things

We are joined by Jerame for this episode as we discuss one of the best, most pivotal episodes of Fringe! Join us as we talk about what we love about this episode (especially the fact that we finally, after 75 episodes, find out “who or what” the Observers are) but also a couple of things that have us feeling just a tad frustrated.

SILY 664- Establishing Healthy Habits

Sometimes we fail to allow grace in our own lives. Once we miss or fail for any reason, we allow those feelings of failure to defeat us causing us to miss more often or quit altogether. It’s important to understand you will miss the mark sometimes. It’s equally important to think about that up front so that you have an understanding and a plan for how to respond and get right back to keeping up the good habit you’re trying to maintain.

SILY 663- The Bookstore Mutiny

I struggled for a long time about whether or not to share this story with you because I felt like it was a story that was not very common and therefore not very applicable. But then I realized this story is very common. If you peel back the layers a bit here, you realize that the first step was the thoughts in the mind of one or more of the employees. They were disgruntled for whatever reason and allowed those thoughts to fester.

FC 55- Best Alien Horror Movies

Aliens tend to be very scary. Whether they’re sucking blood from some unsuspecting, love struck plant store employee or leaving crop circles out behind Mel Gibson’s barn, unleashing slugs who share group consciousness or luring us into a fearsome carnival to learn the true meaning of “scary clown,” aliens are tough to trust. Just like Mulder says, and indeed, it was the fresh new look at The X-Files that inspired this week’s count down: the scariest alien movies. Read More…

FAST LANE
CCU 56- Season 2 Episode 12

The new episode of FLASH, Fast Lane, brought us a classic villain but, even more importantly, it brought some great development in the West family, and the Star Labs family! We got to know more about Wally West, who has a couple different histories in the comics (between the classic “Kid Flash” and the updted “New 52” version of Wally! Check out what co-host Joe had to say about Fast Lane:

The Wild West
One of the things I really give this show a lot of credit for is the writer’s abilities to take what we know of the comics and turn it on its head. Way more often then not, they do this in a way that still feels both organic to the story and true to the spirit of The Flash canon. One of the big “just like you know it but different” aspects this season is the introduction of Wally West. Read more…

BLE46 – S3E13 – #103 Alistair Pitt

Tony Shalhoub leaves crime solving, for criminal mastermind as he takes on the guise of Alistair Pitt, a man who solves problems by uniting crime families together through marriage. Supported by a family of business dealings of his own, and two cute Pomeranians, Alistair seeks to unite two of the biggest crime families on the east coast in order to advance his business. Red, Liz and the rest of the gang set their sights on tracking down Mr. Pitt and, as it turns out, this is a very personal case for Raymond Reddington. By making it personal though is this a sign that Red may be coming a bit unhinged? Or is it something else ailing him? Read More…

SB42 – Agent Carter S2E4 – Smoke and Mirrors Review

We get back story galore in the latest Agent Carter episode, Smoke and Mirrors. It appears that Peggy Carter and Agnes Cully have a lot more in common than it would appear from present circumstances. It’s great to see Sousa helping with Carter’s unorthodox methods, and the information they gather should bring interesting encounters in future episodes.

Join us for show news, episode analysis, and our listener feedback segment! This week we talk about Peggy’s origins, Wilkes’ dilemma, Sousa’s loyalty, Hunt’s vulnerabilities, Masters’ allegiances, and much more. Read more…

AS 77 – S4E12 – Unchained Review

The good news is that we got an excellent all new episode of Arrow this week! The bad news is that Miss Ice is on assignment so she couldn’t join us on this podcast. However, The Shadow and Podcast Overload do their best to go on in her absence as they discuss Season 4 Episode 12 “Unchained” which originally aired on February 3, 2016.
