SILY 719- Pull Up a Chair

Is it possible that one of the biggest threats to your family’s health isn’t in the pantry or the medicine cabinet, but in the way dinner gets served? During my lifetime, a shift has been happening in millions of kitchens, one that researchers have been tracking for decades, and the numbers are more dramatic than I thought.

TSTP 99- The Séance

What happens when you try to be polite to an angry ghost? Join hosts Darrell and Addi as we break down “The Séance,” the Valentine’s Day episode where the H.I.C. decides the best way to celebrate the holiday of love is to summon Bloodaxe Bill’s vengeful spirit.

SILY 718- Disneyland Jesus

There’s a tiny hidden house tucked at the base of a tree in Disneyland, built for a leprechaun who was never real. There’s an empty enemy camp outside a starving city, packed with food nobody touched until four outcasts broke their silence. Today I’m talking about the danger of keeping good news to yourself, and why the best thing you can do with something good, is give it away.

TSTP 98- The Curse of Bloodaxe Bill

A ghostly figure, a skeleton buried in the mine, and a century-old legend of a silver-mad monster collide as the H.I.C. digs into Hawkins’ darkest piece of town history. Join hosts Darrell and Addi as we break down the third episode of the season, “The Curse of Bloodaxe Bill.”

Back to the Future

Is the line between one era and the next as thin as a single step, a single flash of light, and just as impossible to uncross? This month we cross that threshold with two travelers flung into unfamiliar futures, neither one prepared for what waits on the other side. Both stories ask whether escaping your own time can ever mean escaping your own fate, and whether justice or love holds more power.

SILY 717- The Scorecard Trap

Years ago when I first started podcasting, I would constantly look at the download numbers and as I was pulling them up, I’d get butterflies in my stomach. Downloads up, good day. Downloads down, bad day. I’d refresh the analytics page like it was going to tell me something about my worth as a human being. I eventually saw past that trap and rarely gave my podcasts stats much thought or weight. But last year, I fell back into that trap again.

TWDTT 065 – The Damned (S8E2)

TWDTT 065 – The Damned (S8E2)

Ruthie returns to the podcast, after taking Fear Season 3 off and missing last week. In this episode of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Ruthie and I discuss the non-stop action that was in The Walking Dead’s Season 8 Episode 2, titled The Damned, along with a couple of unexpected turns and some questionable moral decisions. I thought it was a good episode, though maybe not as good as last week. Ruthie, however, didn’t care for it too much. Read more…

Welcome back to Maid of Steel! I’m flyin’ solo this week while Karen (the Scarlet Cougar) takes care of some life stuff. Most of my thoughts about the episode are in this podcast, as I keep the podcast pretty tight and stick to listener feedback. This post and podcast cover Supergirl Season 3 Episode 4 “The Faithful” which originally aired on October 30, 2017. Guest actors this week included Chad Lowe as cult leader (Thomas Coville) and Sofia Vassilieva as Olivia. Read more…

Octothorpe: another term for the pound sign (#)

I’m all for a good gumshoe mystery, but this one might be a stretch. This week Hartley Sawyer delivers a masterful performance when he joins Team Flash as the wise-cracking ex-police detective Ralph Dibny, AKA The Elongated Man. And trust me, this guy is a real private dick! When we first met Dibny, he appears to be a down on his luck, sleaze ball private investigator. Quickly we discover he has recently taken a ride on the Metabus and has a real chip on his shoulder for Barry Allen. Once his meta-abilities manifest, our hero-to-be makes matters even worse by blackmailing the crooked mayor into not being blackmailed!? Read more…

RW 157 – Friday the 13th (2009)

Jason gets a make-over and a gritty reboot. That’s right, even though this is apparently a remake of the original, we’re going to tell you about Jason and stifle his mother into a prolog. By definition, a remake is unoriginal, so can the filmmakers breath fresh life into Jason’s rotting franchise? Cory and Nathan are ready to find out and rewatch 2009’s “Friday the 13th.” Read more…
