Ethan Burke is on a mission. Two of his fellow Secret Service Agents are missing. This quest takes Ethan to the picturesque and peaceful town of Wayward Pines nestled in the mountains of Idaho. The next thing Ethan remembers is waking up in the hospital. Nurse Pam informs him that he has been in an accident and that the sheriff has his wallet and phone. He has to get out of this hospital!

Ethan is determined to contact his family and his boss to let them know what is going on. The sheriff’s office is closed so Ethan proceeds to the local bar for food. It is there that Ethan meets Beverly who provides him with more than food. On the back of his receipt Beverly gives Ethan his first clue that all is not what it seems here in Wayward Pines. At first glance this town seems like a paradise. Everyone living in neat, clean homes peacefully coexisting with one another. However If you scratch the surface the mystery begins.

At the address written on his bar receipt Ethan discovers the body of Bill Evans one of the agents he is searching for. What has Bill done to earn this fate? Perhaps he did not follow the rules. Did I mention Wayward Pines has rules? Before long Ethan knows them all.

Ethan is having no luck contacting the outside world. He soon learns his conversations are monitored. They are tracking all his movements via a tracking chip under his skin. What kind of town is this? Ethan’s wife Theresa has not heard from him so she takes matters into her own hands. As she and her son Ben near the border of Wayward Pines they too are drawn into the mystery.

The consequence of breaking the rules is death. However Ethan has broken these rules and the people of the town have let him live. What makes Ethan special? The perception of time is not the same in Wayward Pines.  Some residents think it has been a year, for others a decade has passed.  The town is surrounded by an electrical fence. Is this fence trying to keep the people in or something else out? Thursday’s just got more mysterious on Fox at 9/8c.
