SILY 716- The Marketing Myth

We all have a story we tell ourselves about who we are and what we’re capable of. Or what we’re NOT capable of.  Mine started with a bad coworker and calcified over a decade into something I never questioned again, until I was faced with a situation that forced me to look at myself with fresh eyes. Today’s episode is about the slow, quiet way we talk ourselves out of skills we’re fully capable of learning, and what it finally took to prove myself wrong. If you’ve ever believed “that’s just not me,” you’re going to want to hear how this one turned out.

TSTP 96- A Haunting in Hawkins

A petty robbery at the Palace Arcade, a missing town delinquent and a field of eerie bioluminescent flowers blooming in the dead of winter. Something is definitely haunting Hawkins again. Join us as we kick off coverage of Season 2 of Tales From ’85, diving into the premiere episode set during a Valentine’s Day-themed February 1985.

SILY 715- Climbing the Hill

It’s been said that a manual transmission is basically an anti-theft device these days. And it turns out, learning to drive one taught me way more than just how to work a clutch. It took three different people, a driveway full of stalled engines, and one very specific hill in my hometown to teach me something about frustration, trust, and what it really looks like to help someone else find their way. Stick around, because today’s lesson might just change how you show up for the people you love.

SILY 714- Church of the Hygienist

It’s funny how your mind wanders when you’re sitting in a reclined position with sharp instruments and hands cramped in your mouth, loading your taste buds with the flavor of latex. I was recently at the dentist for my regular cleaning, and that experience helped me process today’s story. What I have for you is most certainly more enjoyable than a trip to the dentist.

S5E14 An Enemy of Fate

This is the end, cortexifriends! This has been such a rewarding journey for us, and we have heard so many of your beautiful stories over the years sharing with us your appreciation not only for Fringe as a series but also for us as a podcast, and it’s why we’ve done it. We kick things off with a really insightful conversation with Thomas Cadrot

Mistaken Identity

How securely anchored is your sense of self when the people who know you best suddenly refuse to recognize you? The Twilight Zone asks that question twice over, following two very different men who wake up unsure which version of their life is real. Both episodes probe the fragile line between identity and illusion, exploring how quickly the world you built for yourself can unravel.

TWDTT 001 – No Sanctuary (S5E1)

TWDTT 001 – No Sanctuary (S5E1)

No Sanctuary is the record-breaking season 5 premiere that knocked our socks off! Terminus is finally revealed, and while we don’t actually see anyone eating people, it’s pretty clear that’s what’s cookin’ in this episode. Full of thrills, kills, and chills, this episode was a nonstop roller coaster of suspense and sensitivity.

This week we discuss all of the crazy intensity a fan could want to be crammed into 45 minutes of TV. We answer some burning questions like “What is going on with Tyreese?” and “Do we buy Eugene’s explanation?” We also discuss the awesomeness that is “Rambo Carol” in this episode as well as the poignant reunions and the special after credit scene. TC41 – Harrison Ford Raiders of the Lost Ark

TC41 – Harrison Ford Raiders of the Lost Ark

In episode 41 of TripleCast, Cory and Travis continue discussing Harrison Ford favorites with “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” In 1936 Indiana Jones is an adventuring archeologist who is willing to break the rules to get the artifacts to his friend Adrian Brody’s museum for the world to see. After being foiled by rival archaeologist Rene Belloq during a “dig” in South America, the US government asks for Professor Jones’ help tracking down the Ark of the Covenant. They have already lost contact with another archaeologist they sent first, and it is the father of Marion Ravenwood, the woman Indiana spurned in an earlier tryst. He now must get her help to track down the artefacts her father was using to find the Ark and avoid Nazis, Belloq, snakes, and vengeful spirits to bring God’s Holy artefact back to the safety of the United States basement. 154- Battle for the Pink Bowl

154- Battle for the Pink Bowl

Meal times at my house are becoming predictable. Not because we eat the same meals every day, but because just as dinner is being served, at any given meal we know we will probably hear the words “I want the pink bowl”. We bought a stack of brightly colored bowls and plates for the kids at IKEA some time ago. When we moved into the new home, I triumphantly unpacked the bowls and plates expecting my children to be excited about their new fun dinnerware. That lasted for a little while, as Renna was still developing her likes and dislikes. Marin has always favored pink, and I am used to her constant hunt for pink things and insistence that pink be somewhere on every outfit that she wears or at least on a bow in her hair, as if she will suddenly forget what pink looks like if she goes a day without it.
