Hey guys – I’m going to take issue with you on your view that Olivia was over-reacting to the news that Peter had been carrying on with Fauxlivia. You have to realize that you’re looking at the situation from a male point of view. A woman might not see Olivia as over-reacting. With issues of the heart we have to remember that men and women do not always see the situation the same. I think Olivia has an emotional investment with Peter; maybe even more than she realizes. In that sense I did not see her reaction as being “over the top”.
I agree with John. Also, you have to consider that for Olivia it is especially hard, because she is not a very open person. And suddenly she comes back from a traumatic experience only to discover that everyone she works with knows about the affair and her personal life (even though it’s not even really hers but Altlivia’s) is out in the open. Remember what she said when Peter told her? She immediately asked if everyone knows, because in the mostly male world of the FBI she needs to keep a tough persona and not have her colleagues look at her and think “girl got her heart broken” or whatever. Olivia was really hurt by Peter’s affair with Altlivia and I think her reaction was completely plausible, justified, and most of all in character.
