In episode 18 of Triplecast we wrap up our Alfred Hitchcock and Cary Grant series with their 1959 collaboration, “North By Northwest.” This much loved story chronicles the adventure of Roger Thornhill after he is thrust into the world of spies by a simple case of mistaken identity. Since the police don’t believe his story, he goes to great lengths to avoid capture and prove his innocence. The film crescendos with a gripping chase across the top of Mount Rushmore.
We discuss the plot, acting, style, and cinematography of “North by Northwest”, talk about what happened next in the lives of the actors, and recommend other movies similar to “North by Northwest.”
