Re: my comment about The Witness taking over Jennifer
The ‘Immersion’ process seems to be a bit more involved than just the tea ceremony and is presumably what allowed The Witness to take over Cassie. Jennifer made this comment in 202: “Mothers to daughters. They fill baths with water and they soap and bubbles and they tell them that they’re special. They say ‘you have a purpose’.” Cassie’s Immersion process involved a bath and Olivia spoke in 205 of treating Jennifer like a daughter: “I care a great deal about you Jennifer. You’re like a daughter to me. I thought that’s what you wanted. To be a daughter again.” Combine this with Jennifer’s preceding quote: “No more tea. No more water. No more baths.” and it sounds like Jennifer may have undergone the Immersion process, too. As the Immersion seems to be used for more than just ‘wall communication’, you have to wonder for what purpose it was done to Jennifer.
