FTWDTT 015 – Los Muertos (S2E9)
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:37:40 — 56.3MB) | Embed
The second episode back, “Los Muertos” felt like it should have been the first episode back, but I guess you have to get Nick there first. Both of us enjoyed this episode more than the first one, but there are still kinks that need to be worked out. Unfortunately, when a show isn’t doing it for you as much, or any more, the desire to overlook those little inconsistencies goes away. But we are still watching and looking for the good, and I hope we don’t ever get too negative so as to turn off our listeners. If that is ever the case, won’t you please let us know so that we can course correct?? However, I have a feeling that fewer and fewer of you are also still watching. But, you’re still listening to us, right? Right…? Read More…

FTWDTT 014 – Grotesque (S2E8)
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:50:54 — 63.8MB) | Embed
The time has come at last for the second half of the second season of Fear the Walking Dead! “Grotesque” is the name of the episode that brought us back, and the title was not wrong. There were more than a few stomach-churning things that happened in this episode, however, the episode also left a sort of grotesque taste in our mouths. I don’t know if we should have been expecting more or not, but this episode did not seem to fit its placement in the season. It would have been more fitting as a middle of the pack bottle episode rather than the one that we first saw after the destruction of the previous episode so many months ago. But, this is what we got, so this is what we talk about! Read More…

TWDTT 043 – Season 6 Recap and 7 First Look
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:45:12 — 60.8MB) | Embed
The long wait is over! Our review of The Walking Dead season 6 and first look at season 7 is finally here! And not a moment too soon, as Fear the Walking Dead returns to finish off the second half of season 2, which we talked about briefly. But the main event is still the main show and that is what we spent most of our time talking about. There were Comic-Con trailers to review and highs and lows to discuss. For the most part, there were no major differences in our opinions of the strengths and weaknesses of The Walking Dead season 6, but at least one of us has felt the fires cool a little bit in anticipation of season 7. However, I’m sure that will change once The Walking Dead season 7 starts on October 23rd. Read More…

FTWDTT 013 – Shiva (S2E7)
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:57:42 — 67.7MB) | Embed
The long wait is finally over! “Shiva” is the last episode of Fear the Walking Dead for a few months, and this will be our last episode for a little while as we take a small break from what has been a TWD juggernaut. We hope you won’t be too disappointed in our episode because we sure were disappointed in the episode we talked about. We tried to stay positive, but sometimes our disappointment in “Shiva” took over a little bit. This is also unusual for us because it’s not very often when both of us feel the same way about an episode. Most of the time, one of us is able to talk the other off the proverbial ledge as to why an episode is the way it is. However, this time we both had to keep ourselves from being too negative. We are confused about the decisions that the network has been making, and we don’t understand why so many of the characters did what they did. It also seemed especially disappointing considering how much we both loved the previous episode. However, many of you out there really enjoyed this episode, which made us very happy. This time, it was you guys who were able to talk us off the ledge.

FTWDTT 012 – Sicut Cervus (S2E6)
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:47:55 — 62.1MB) | Embed
“Sicut Cervus” is the penultimate episode (because I love the word penultimate!) of the first half of the second season of Fear the Walking Dead, and this review is the 12th episode of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through! Whew, say that five times fast! Basically we have one more episode before you have any form of The Walking Dead on television, which means you also won’t hear from us for awhile. This may be sad news if you like listening to us prattle on. If you don’t…again, I’m so confused as to why you are here…But we had fun talking about this episode once again. Things took a rather dark turn in this episode, and we might be done with the Love Boat edition of TWD. Read More…

FTWDTT 011 – Captive (S2E5)
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:57:49 — 67.8MB) | Embed
“Captive” is the next episode in season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead and boy did we have a lot to say about this episode! We were kind of all over the place, but hopefully what we had to say made sense to most of you. What we didn’t understand was why Connor’s group expected Alicia to simply ditch her family and stick with them. What did they have to offer that was so great that would outweigh being with family? While it’s true that not everyone is blessed with a great family, or great family bonds, they had no idea if that was the case for Alicia. As Jack found out, Alicia would rather be with her family than them. Read More…

FTWDTT 010 – Blood in the Streets (S2E4)
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:42:02 — 58.8MB) | Embed
“Blood in the Streets” is episode 4 of season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead, and it is a rare gem for either show in this universe because it gave us Strand’s backstory! I don’t know if they always planned on giving us his backstory, or if they did it because he became such a fan favorite the moment he appeared on screen. I was definitely excited to learn more about this very intriguing character, but what is also interesting is how differently this backstory can be interpreted. What seems like a no brainer to one could still be viewed more than one way by another. It seems Strand’s intentions are still not crystal clear. Is he playing a long con, or does he really love Thomas Abigail? Only time will tell.

FTWDTT 009 – Ouroboros (S2E3)
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:28:36 — 51.1MB) | Embed
We are back to our normal selves to discuss “Ouroboros,” the third episode of Fear the Walking Dead season two…or at least, I am! I was able to catch a few more zzz’s this week and did not have to focus all my energy on forming coherent sentences! And yes, Brian was normal, too. But what an exciting episode! Perhaps the best episode of Fear yet, this episode was packed with all the things we love about this world. There was an “infected” horde that mobbed our characters on the beach, there was an underwater scare with an “infected” filtration clog, and of course, good ole fashioned death threats. Is Madison capable of carrying out her promise to throw Strand overboard? Strand doesn’t think so, but I’m not so sure. Brian pointed out that there is not really a clear leader of the Abigail crew yet, and while I want it to be Travis, I think it will probably end up being Madison. But what do you think? Read More…

FTWDTT 008 – We All Fall Down (S2E2)
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:10:23 — 40.6MB) | Embed
First of all, I must offer apologies because I was super tired the night we recorded our review of “We All Fall Down” but I promise I was not drunk! I was a little slow on the uptake so I didn’t laugh at all the funnies as much, or even get them really. But still, I think we had a fairly good discussion about the second episode of Fear the Walking Dead. I had fun at least, and hopefully you guys will, too, and forgive me if I sound crazy! FTWDTT 007 – Monster (S2E1)
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:36:59 — 55.9MB) | Embed
“Monster” is the first episode of season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead, and what a season opener! We find out that the three rules of Strand’s boat are similar to the first two rules of Fight Club, and that some characters are figuring out the new world quicker than others. They left behind a burning Los Angeles for perhaps an equally perilous journey on the sea, but something tells me that they won’t be on the water the whole time (maybe it was that sneak peak on Talking Dead!). Still it will be interesting to discover the different dangers that the ocean will provide. Read More…
