Case Profile for Captain Kidd
Captain Kidd is a glorified nerd who takes his love for the web, stratego, and crazy fetish with geocaching and turns it into an enterprise acting as a middleman for criminals. He receives goods from Criminal Party A and then uses Droppers to hide the goods in a secret location. At which point he then conducts a transaction between Criminal Part A the Seller, and Criminal Party B the buyer. For this week’s case Townsend is willing to sell Sophia Maroon an LGBTQ+ champion and ally from Saudi Arabia to the Saudi’s so that they can kill her for her behavior against the the country and the royal family. Thankfully Sophia is pretty good with a a gun and takes out the Saudi buyers just as Ressler and Aram arrive to save the day.
Meanwhile, to move the mythos along, Park tails Andrew Patterson aka Rakitin to a block short of Red’s restaurant. Once Rakitin loses Park he confronts Red about Cooper and the FBI. This in turn has Red confronting Cooper pleading with him to stay out of it for his own good. Meanwhile Rakitin visits our friend in the east who is growing impatient with Red and provides a kill list to Rakitin with Coopers name on it.
Be sure to answer our profiling question of the week: What names besides Coopers are on the kill list? Visit our feedback page to leave a response or call +1 (304) 837-2278.
Captain Kidd in Pictures
Here are a just a few of our favorite scenes from this week.
The Music for Captain Kidd
Our first track “Our Darkness” by Anne Clark plays as the buyers and the task force search for Sophia. Then as Cooper tells Aram stories of the Saudi Royal family we hear “Chains” by Avi Kaplan.
You can hear these songs via the official Blacklist playlist on Spotify or the same playlist recreated by us on Apple Music.

Nevelle Townsend is one scary ass dude. He has people working in the Federal law enforcement agencies e.g. the Federal Marshal who lead Townsend to Captain Kidd. And he might possibly have people in the U.S. Government, politicians and judges in his pocket. When Red said that Townsend is dangerous, he’s not being flippant about it. Remember when Ressler and Liz were questioning the accountant in the Kazanjian Brothers? He told them that “all you feds aren’t as squeaky clean as you want us to believe.” It’s as if he has information over them. What if he is working for Townsend? What if Townsend has an army of people in high positions working for him? It might come to where the task force needs to watch their backs on who they can trust. Especially if they go after Townsend. That is why Red feels that he needs to go after Townsend alone. But, Dembe is right. Red and the task force need to work together on this. I’m hoping Panabaker is not affected by Townsend but it would bring an interesting and paranoid feel for the show. “Somebody is watching you” Ma-ha-ha-ha-ha!
