Welcome to Stuff I Learned Yesterday. My name is Darrell Darnell, I purchased 4 boxes of Girl Scout cookies today, and I believe that if you aren’t learning, you aren’t living. In today’s episode of Stuff I Learned Yesterday I’m pleased to bring you another installment of the Friday Forum.

Today’s Fun Fact: Here are some fun facts about Girl Scout Cookies:

  • In the 1920s and 1930s, Girl Scouts in different parts of the country baked their own simple sugar cookies and sold them to raise money for their activities.
  • The first national Girl Scout Cookie sale was held in 1936.
  • Each season, Girl Scouts sell almost 200 million packages of Girl Scout Cookies!
  • 25% of all Girl Scout cookies sold are Thin Mints, making it the most popular flavor.
  • The world record for the most boxes of Girl Scout cookies sold by a single person in one season is 22,000 boxes. The champion cookie seller is 14 year old Katie Francis of Oklahoma City.
