Agents of SHIELD Season 5 Episode 20 Review: The One Who Will Save Us All
In “The One Who Will Save Us All,” Agents of SHIELD introduces a new superhero/supervillain in Glen Talbot’s gravitonium-enhanced form. Our foreknowledge of what’s to come is both a blessing and a curse: we know where this is headed, but we can’t seem to figure out how they’re going to break the time loop, especially since SHIELD isn’t exactly acting as a cohesive team right now.
Join us for show news, commentary and analysis for “The One Who Will Save Us All,” Faith’s CoulSass moments, and our listener feedback segment! This week we talk about Elena’s willfulness, Fitz’s attempted apology, Mack’s self-righteousness, Coulson’s difficulties, Deke’s confession, Daisy’s macabre mission, and Simmons’ reluctant cooperation.

I agree with Dave in that I found the agents stuff more interesting than the Talbot plot this episode; Talbot’s plot is organic to what we’ve seen but on a drama level I want to see more of the team deciding what’s in each individual’s future instead because that’s who I’m invested in not Talbot.
I do think Talbot is trying to make up for things but the problem is he isn’t working with he full information so by not listening to Coulson he’s going to make things worse by allowing the invasion to happen it’s just not the one he’s told that’s coming; yes Thanos is there but he’s not the enemy they need to deal with currently first.
I miss Hale too.
Mack recoiling was definitely about Elena’s actions more than her looks. I disagree he’s the heart of the team; I’m not sure anyone is the standout heart anymore but if I had to pick one I’d say May because she’s still the one who’s actually keeping the pieces together right now it feels.
I’m DEFINITELY waiting for the Daisy shootout scene on Zephyr!
I vote for “Fun Game” in the CoulSass poll!
That’s a good question to debate – should the team kiss and make up? On the one hand I’d like them to be able to get along but on the other I’m not sure it’s realistic they can; Elena has issues with authority so while she can be an asset maybe she’s better long run off the team. Is Daisy ready to let what they did go in order to lead them without bias and if she’s not should she not be a leader or should she just not be their leader? Can Fitz and Simmons be trusted or will they consistently make waves to the point they’re value to the team is gone? Can Mack work with this group enough to continue? Will May want to without Phil because honestly if anyone deserves a break on that roster it’s her! That could be a way to write characters off without killing everyone in case they want to bring them back – have them retire from the group instead of killing them off because while death is easy drama you can still have emotional moments with people walking away at this point given the situations. I’d love to hear what you all think – do you want to see the team together again and can you see it given all that’s happened so far?
