The Sandbox Episode 84 – Rewind Review
Agents of SHIELD returns to more familiar territory in Rewind, and callbacks are plentiful with the return of Lance Hunter and a reference coming all the way from season 3. We get plenty of answers to questions but plenty more crop up in their place. With Fitz in the future, are we any closer to a solution to the mystery of why SHIELD was sent to 2091 in the first place?
Join us for show news, commentary and analysis for Rewind, Faith’s CoulSass moments, and our listener feedback segment! This week we talk about Hunter’s questionable contacts, Fitz’s increasingly useful dark side, Robin’s enigmatic drawings, Enoch’s mysterious origins, General Hale’s suspicious motivations, and the completely unknown origins of the Lighthouse.

I agree Hale was fun in this episode and definitely a scene stealer; like Dave I did enjoy the blonde assistant and was looking forward to seeing if she was good or bad but then killed her and her partner off. 🙁
I vote we keep the beard for awhile! At the least I submit negotiations for him having a decent amount of stubble.
It’s a tough choice but I’m going “Is One Of Those Buttons An Engine?” for the CoulSass poll; clearly Hunter’s having a down month on work.
If I remember correctly they did use a monolith to rescue Simmons, it was at the castle place where Daisy quaked it to keep it open, almost killing herself to do so, so Fitz could pull Simmons through…they broke it at the end and everyone thinks they’re dead until Fitz pushes his hand up and they pull them out of the black dust.
That’s fair to say we’re only on E5 and we have 22 episodes to create, but still for me personally I need something on the involvement – was it to prevent Daisy from shattering the Earth? If so why not say “Don’t do that” or send her only to the future leaving the team to try and find her again; was it to help the people in that time because if so why not just ask for their help – why the kidnapping? Is it prophecy to Inok because of Robin or is someone somehow asking her for help and did she pick the team because she knew of their skills or for another reason? I feel you can have challenges for the team and mysteries going even if we know that why for the season.
Robin communicating through time is an interesting possibility! Maybe that’ll help how they get back if they can – they somehow let her know the mission is done and she gets Inok to put the stone where they can return. Or maybe his people send them back via the cryo tubes to a select point given they’ve established that method now.
