The Sandbox Episode – Let Me Stand Next To Your Fire Review
Let Me Stand Next To Your Fire was an episode filled with action, sass, and surprises! Any Ghost Rider fan had to be happy to see Robbie reclaim the signature chain from James a.k.a. Hellfire. There was plenty to love about this episode as Daisy and Simmons reunite and the Inhuman vs. Watchdogs plot really starts to get heated up. Get it? Fire > heated up?
Join us for show news, commentary and analysis for Let Me Stand Next To Your Fire, Faith’s CoulSass moments, and our listener feedback segment! This week we talk about Simmons blowing Daisy’s mind, Fitz’s great awkward moments, Aida’s May-centric Turing test, Robbie’s surprising willingness to help SHIELD, and the surprising twist for the return of James.

I was looking forward to Dave singing! At the least him explaining the song connection.
Still on a glorious Skimmons high thinking about this episode! 🙂 Minus the Fitzsimmons romance bits, I agree this did feel like a nice organic path from S2 Jemma who I was hoping to see more of…the Jemma who’s not going to hold in her feelings anymore and is showing she’s just as capable as the next agent; she’s not May but she’s still an agent as well and they need her just as much. I definitely loved independent Jemma in this! Not just good Skimmons beats but good Jemma beats also; it definitely adds to my love of this episode. To be fair, this whole season has been good so far but this one is holding a special place in my heart as you’d imagine. 🙂
As Dave said Robbie is growing on me. Daisy bought Jemma a house – SKIMMONS! Points to Mike for the Zoie Palmer shout-out! Ada is definitely a plot I’m excited to see explored more; I love how y’all are handling potential spoilers this season! It wouldn’t surprise me if Nadir gave the Watchdogs the list, but didn’t James say he allowed a group to use his watch to hack in?
I vote for “You didn’t see that coming?” in the CoulSass Poll.
Oh the Daisy line about how James working at the fireworks shop being the worse idea ever employment wise was good. I have to say I love how they’re doing the Robbie-Daisy dynamic, they’re working together and feeling each other out but they’re not rushing into any romance which is very refreshing to see…I’m not saying it won’t eventually go there later, although I hope not because their friendship is great, but it feels more realistic this way and makes me more open to seeing the scenes then instantly having Daisy fall for him like they have with her and others in the past. Definitely a good job so far with the Robbie-Daisy dynamic handling! I don’t see Daisy giving up the van. I agree with Taltos and others – Daisy’s logic regarding the gauntlets was highly flawed.
A good episode; I would have rated it great but Dave didn’t sing. Ha.
