The Sandbox Episode 53 – The Team Review
Just as we thought we’d have a kick-ass superhero team in this week’s Agents of SHIELD episode, The Team, the whole thing falls apart! In a great whodunit-style mole hunt, no one was above suspicion, even the eventual culprit. As much as we hated Malick, it’s sad to see him go as the series shifts into a new storyline in the final third of the season.
Join us for show news, commentary and analysis for The Team, Faith’s CoulSass moments, and our listener feedback segment! This week we talk Yo-yo’s mistrust of authority, Joey’s cool use of powers, Hive’s true nature, the Fitz-Simmons kiss, and much more!

Lip Sync Battle:

Regarding “Lip Sync Battle”, I’m okay with Clark winning it given his performance of “Toxic” but I think it could have gone either way really; he didn’t run away with it for me because while “Toxic” was good Hayley was better technique wise I think. Here’s hoping they’ll do a rematch in the future!
I still don’t buy Fitz being the one to joke about the painting, Jemma sure but it didn’t fit for Fitz to me which is why it felt more Iain and Elizabeth playing around than Fitz and Simmons. Joey’s and Elena’s team up was good. I don’t know if I would call Elena a newbie, she’s no more new to her powers than Daisy at the least because even Daisy is still learning her skills; yes Elena is new to working on a team but I don’t think I’d call her a newbie in the sense she’s never faced battle like Joey has because we know Elena’s been in tough situations and is arguably more prepared than Lincoln to face some things.
I’m wondering how they revived Lincoln because I don’t remember if they needed Lucio to unfreeze him or after a time would he just thaw out as it were; I can’t remember how they handled it with Bobbi and Hunter but if they needed Lucio and Lucio was dead then how did they unfreeze Lincoln without him? I disagree the humans trust the humans and the Inhumans trust the Inhumans because Elena didn’t seem to really trust anyone and while they may feel they’re possibly infected it doesn’t mean each Inhuman is so I can see some human members trusting certain Inhumans or distrusting the lengths some humans go so I disagree with that statement a little. The end sequence with Daisy was good!
I vote for “Question Them” and “Space” in the CoulSass poll.
Agreed, that’s a fair comment about the episode being arguably light on the Secret Warriors action; yes they were in it so their screen time was good but if you did want to see more powers and less talk then it would be a disappointment some. To be fair to Elena, she does know S.H.I.E.L.D.’s names but she doesn’t know them honestly so I understood her questioning them. Why would Mack learn Spanish for Bobbi?
Bobbi was the only one on the team that new Spanish, so I think Dave was saying that Mack learned Spanish in honor of her now that she’s gone. I know… a bit of a stretch, right?
Given their relationship, it wouldn’t be completely out of place for Mack to keep a part of Bobbi and Hunter around him now that they’re gone; however, I do feel he probably learned Spanish more to understand Elena than anything. Elena was right though, they are spies and multiple languages would be beneficial to know, but I still think it was more to do with her than him just wanting to learn a new language because he wanted to know it. Maybe Mack had always wanted to learn a new language though but meeting Elena just helped him decide which; however again I’m not going to say it’s impossible he didn’t do it for Bobbi especially if it was to secretly communicate with them for some reason – I’m not ruling out a “Most Wanted”/”Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” crossover in the future!
