In the post Maveth world, what will happen to Hydra under its new “leadership,” so to speak? Bouncing Back provides a lot of set up for the second half of the season, and reminds us of how we left things in the first. How will the battle to gain new Inhumans proceed?
Join us for show news, episode analysis, and our listener feedback segment! This week we talk about that amazing opening scene, the contributions of Yo-yo Rodriguez, the dynamics among the SHIELD team, and the many unknowns surrounding Ward in his new incarnation.

Is there a pairing name for Jemma and Lincoln yet? Not romantically of course, but just a pairing name for their potential awesome moments together. If not, I vote for BioShock!
I’m excited to see more of Elena. Yes, less Fitzsimmons romance and more Fitzsimmons friendship. I find Hines Ward to be a wonderful thing Dave; go Steelers. 🙂
I wonder if we’ll see May working with Elena to control her breathing which will help lengthen her heartbeat so she can go further? The language translation bit was great. I don’t fault Mike for not liking Lincoln/Daisy, they are physically attractive together and they seem like they’d be good friends but it does feel more like lust between/friends with benefits between them more than love; it’s sort of like Fitzsimmons to me except with them I can actually believe Fitz loves Jemma (still not buying Jemma organically loves Fitz the same way) where as with Lincoln/Daisy I get lust from both but not necessarily that they’re in love with each other yet. I think they’re both still pretty guarded right now in that Lincoln doesn’t really trust anyone at S.H.I.E.L.D. even if he’s willing to work with Daisy and Mack, the trust only extends so far because of how hurt he is by the Jai-ying fallout, and Daisy trusts more but she knows people can change; if/when Lincoln leaves S.H.I.E.L.D. if it’s due to disagreeing with them, which I can easily see that being the case, I think she’ll be more hurt by that rather than losing a friend with benefits know. An no this is not just the Skimmons shipper in me talking. Ha!
I have to disagree that Fitz has been this wonderful guy the whole, yes he’s done some good things but he’s also been arguably pretty selfish and pushy about things towards Jemma so again I felt that was an inorganic statement, but I did still like the start over because I’m hoping it means more friendship which was great between them and less romance because I don’t buy that all coming from Jemma know. I buy Coulson/May as a couple more than Fitzsimmons or Daisy/Lincoln. I agree with Dave, it is kind of hard to believe Coulson hasn’t been in a Calvary situation before even if he’s never talked about it like May finally did. It was a good set-up episode. Talbot does lead to good Coulsass moments.
I like Lincoln, but do think he works better outside of S.H.I.E.L.D.. I meant May saying the line was a quick beat, but for it to just be her saying a line it had a big feeling impact. That’s a fair point regarding why trace the phone call because even if Coulson didn’t say he was coming Malick was probably going to go on the move more just from wondering if Coulson traced the call. Fair point by Ranada regarding wanting the accent to be better. The opening was good, but I still feel it could be a distraction as well; I agree it was good seeing someone in control of their powers and that not everyone is new to the game in that regard.
