With Ana on the mend and Wilkes in the clutches of Whitney Frost, the emotions were running high in this double episode of Agent Carter, which included The Edge of Mystery and A Little Song and Dance. There were quite a few unlikely team-ups for us to talk about as well, which made this a great lead in to the season finale next week.
Join us for show news, episode analysis, and our listener feedback segment! This week we talk about Whitney’s lack of fulfillment with zero matter, Wilkes’ troubled relationship with it, Thompson’s strategic turnaround, the recruitment of Masters, and the fate of those near the potential explosion at the end.

SHOW NOTES:
Fitz and Simmons appearance in Ultimate Spider Man
Angie and “Oh Peggy, I’ll always be in your head.” are the only good things about the dream musical sequence.
I really liked Jack’s arc overall; I never trusted him turning on Peggy, they may disagree but he knows at the end of the day she’s right. It was great seeing James D’Arcy’s dramatic side during the hospital scenes. The opening between Peggy and Jarvis was great. I liked the first episode turn of Wilkes because while I don’t think he would have shot Peggy, he is swayed by science so it makes sense he would listen to Whitney on that level. I’m glad Peggy called Sousa out over his double standards. I really liked this first episode.
I definitely loved the Peggy-Jarvis scene on the road. Ana telling Jarvis to back-up Peggy again just makes me wish we’d had even more time getting to know her. I was not a fan of the musical part. I have to say Jack has a point about pushing the button, but I also understand why Peggy sees Wilkes as innocent; it was a great face-off. That was definitely a way better two parter than the last! A good episode.
Whitney was a great villain, but I have to disagree about season 2 being better than season 1. I agree the love triangle was not a high point for me in the season; I liked them showing Peggy moving on from Steve, but they didn’t really give us a lot of Peggy/Wilkes enough to make that feel solid ironically, it felt more potential love than love like she had for Steve, and Sousa lost major points with me for not calling Peggy back so I’d rather he stayed with his girlfriend and he and Peggy just been friends thus the triangle didn’t work for me and really slowed down the episodes for me when it was a focus. Very cool tidbits from Taltos! Hayley Atwell really does help make this character awesome.
