If Skye contains her powers, where do they go? In One of Us, Zabo assembles a team from “The Index” to send a message to S.H.I.E.L.D. and ultimately to his daughter about how gifted people are treated. Has S.H.I.E.L.D. really changed under Coulson’s reign? Perhaps it’s time for the “real” S.H.I.E.L.D. to make an appearance!
Join us for show news, episode analysis, and our “Sandbox Mailbox” for listener feedback! This week we talk about Bobbie’s and Mack’s continuing deception, Simmons’ fixation with sedating Skye, May’s relationship with her ex, and Cal Zabo’s absurdly elaborate plan.

SHOW NOTES:
Ruth Negga Cast as Female Lead in AMC’s Preacher Series

The real shield will be riddled with hydra, and Coulson and bobbi are in cahoots to extract them….
Ruth wouldn’t be the first crossover cast member, Adrianne Palicki was Wonder Woman for a very short time which is DC and then she was in “G.I. Joe” which was a Marvel property WAY back in the day and then a Devil’s Due, Image, and now IDW product so she was the first crossover star.
I can definitely see both sides for the list debate; on the one hand like Dave said some of them are dangerous and you need to keep an eye on them, but like Mike suggested all aren’t bad. Yes there is the potential for them to do bad and it cause major problems but the same could be argued over those without powers; look at Ward for example, he has no special powers but he’s arguably just as dangerous if not more than some of the people on the Index possibly. I get the love-hate for the list; it’s like mutant registration, some or for it and some are against it within the community of mutants alone. There’s definitely arguments for both sides and how it could be handled in the future, like there’s always a file for someone like there always would be powers or no but they aren’t on the watch list because they’re proven allies. I’m okay with Simmons “freezing out” Fitz in this episode because I’m assuming it’s only been like a day or two since the last episode and so she’s still understandably upset, to be fair Fitz was angry when Jemma came back from her Hydra mission so he doesn’t have a whole lot of right to be too picky on it, but I did like Bobbi’s line about them being spies. I don’t think Simmons will continue to lock Fitz out because even though she told Coulson she wouldn’t tell anyone I can see her going to Fitz to help Skye because she wants to protect her and Fitz can help with Skye’s Quake suit.
Again I get the debate about Simmons, you can only explain so much using Raina as Mike said but still I think some things she just said out of anger and maybe Fitz is taking it to a more extreme place than she meant it; like wanting to kill Raina, or Ward even, you can debate she has a point to that that maybe they are better taken out but it doesn’t mean she would ever kill Skye. Again I think she’s getting a slightly unfair negative reaction from the fans; it is a quick, it is some arguably extreme comments, but it doesn’t mean she’s going to become Tony Stark’s second in command for registration. Take Eric from the “Thor” series for example, he had some bad times with Loki in “Avengers” but that doesn’t mean he wants to take out Thor because he’s related to Loki. I just think Simmons said some things at the wrong time that got taken the wrong way; I know you could say “how can that be taken other ways?” but again she had loss a fellow agent, she saw Mike in control then turn against both S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra while undercover, she’s experiencing a lot of stuff in an arguably short time span. People’s emotions can change, look at Bobbi wanting to bring Hunter in because she doesn’t like lying to him anymore; I know her attitude is aggressive at times suddenly but I don’t think Simmons is a bad person.
I did love Andrew’s conditions for meeting with Skye. Everyone wants to know about May. Was it just me or did Skye make a comment about feeling the vibrations in the air and that’s how she knew it wasn’t her but the plane? That make for some interesting tracking abilities on missions possibly.
Carla was also a nurse they said so that could be why she volunteered to take off the mask, just because she’d be better at it. I don’t Skye was just scared she might have to fight the team, I think she was scared they might get hurt in their fights and in order to protect them her powers came out and she had to rein them back in; it was a combination effect. I definitely thought there would be a clear S.W.O.R.D. reference to “real S.H.I.E.L.D.”; I think Edward’s character will be leading it for the start though. Facebook isn’t mobile friendly for me so I can’t join the group, sad face.
