I love Sandbox Fridays.
So happy to hear about AP. I hope Skye stays Skye in name; it’s kind of like Sophie from “Leverage”, no matter her alias she was always Sophie to us. I am not opposed however to Daisy being used at times to try and gain favor with Skye or to provoke her.
I was surprised to see Skye’s mom in this episodes, but it was fun; I hope we’ll see more of her in these mini flashbacks, she seems currently like the Professor X of the inhuman groups.
I have to say I find it a little funny that Dave is calling out Jemma for shooting Raina to a degree when his mantra for “Agent Carter” was “Just shot her.”; I get what he’s saying in part but it’s funny. I can’t fault Jemma for shooting at Raina during that moment, she was defending herself.
I hope it’s a mix with Skye when it comes to her powers; I’m okay with her learning on her own at times, but I also like the idea of the team helping her some, like May taught her the earlier breathing techniques. I loved the delivery of Fitz’s line, “No. That’s inhuman.”. I reserve judgement on Jemma until we see how she reacts to finding out Skye has changed; I get why some are calling her out of character but I can also see how she might feel that way when things first happen. It’s sort of like Fitz thinking everyone was against him when he first came back but they were really just trying to help him and not really treating him that differently; Jemma’s having a Tony Stark “Iron Man 3” level reaction, but it doesn’t mean she’ll stay that way when she finds out about Skye so I’m waiting with this plot to see how she’ll handle things before I call foul on the believability.
As a Skimmons shipper I have to say I didn’t cry at this episode, I felt bad for Skye being worried what Jemma might think but again it comes to what she’ll do when she finds out and I personally find it really hard to believe Simmons would just turn her back on Skye; she’ll be anger Skye and Fitz kept things from her, though you could argue she suspects things given her questioning look at the copied results, and she’ll want to know what happened to Trip really but I think she knows Skye wouldn’t intentionally hurt Trip (it was just an accident the same if one of her inventions with Fitz had hurt a fellow agent) so eventually they’ll be okay. I still believe in Skimmons. Again Jemma’s reaction was strange to a degree I’ll grant fellow fans, but she doesn’t know about Skye yet.
More Bobbi and Hunter banter please because that’s gold at times. Fitz has great moments with Skye in this episode. I thought the twins in the “Avengers” movie were meant to represent Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, they just called them inhuman since they can’t currently use the word mutant which is what they really are?
Raina’s arc in this episode surprised me, I knew she’d be upset about her looks, but I didn’t think she would try to kill herself; I figured she’d be mad at Cal and want some revenge on him for abandoning her. I’m interested in seeing who she becomes now though, a good guy or a bad guy; also if she’ll learn to control her powers so they don’t hurt her since she said they currently were in a way. The different effects definitely make you wonder why some inhumans keep their looks but others change.
Question, why would Fury need to steal back the toolbox? He gave it to Coulson so Coulson knows he’s alive; why not just ask for it back? Geez has a good question, is it the full toolbox they want or something specific inside it that Coulson hasn’t discovered yet? If this is the start of Civil War then it could be almost anyone Bobbi and Mack are working for; it could be Maria Hill, I say that wanting to see her in another episode. Next week Sif which is yay.
