Agent Carter’s secret is finally out, and she’s fighting for her freedom and the safety of her fellow agents in Snafu. The Doctor and Dottie are after Item 17, which brings Leviathan’s plans into clearer focus, but what’s they’re target? This penultimate episode of the season sets up what is sure to be an amazing finale before we head back to talking about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Join us for show news, episode analysis, our “Declassified” segment, and the “Sandbox Mailbox” for listener feedback! This week we talk about Dottie’s creepiness with the baby carriage, Thompson’s unexpected faith in Carter, and Dooley’s ultimate sacrifice.

SHOW NOTES:
Johann Fennhoff (Dr. Faustus) in the MCU
I do hope we get more episodes of “Agent Carter”; I think it works well as a filler for “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”, either as a break for 8 episodes or more between each season. Keeping them together also sets up nicely for any more crossover events like they did with Whitehall and the obelisk in season two. It’s a nice Marvel loop.
I LOVED Peggy’s explanation to the group about how she was able to carry out her mission. Such an honest moment. Well written by the writers and well done by Hayley; definitely an amazing moment.
Using the table to break the glass is one of the funniest moments of this series so far; again I love the realism with Jarvis having questions about it and then Peggy having to admit her error in them still having the issue of being handcuffed to the table so how do they get out of that. Though I am a bit surprised Peggy didn’t just pull out the old “dislocated thumb” trick to get out of the cuffs; maybe she would have had Thompson not come in, but it would have been interesting to see their next step. Just a fun moment.
I was surprised Jarvis blamed Howard to an extent; that was more surprising than Dooley to me. I think the blood will be more of a personal piece to Peggy and a way to keep the Captain America plot linked; I wouldn’t be surprised to see it as a target possibly in the future, but for the most part I think Peggy will keep it locked down. Maybe she gives it back to Howard to help someone else but overall it’ll stay with her.
Nice theory about the battle and item 17 Mike. I do have some questions though, according to older episodes we know Tony visited the battle location after the item was used but they never say, that I can remember, if he was there before or during so who activated item 17 if that is the common link? Why that location? Is item 17 really a Stark invention or did Howard just have it in his collection because he was trying to fix it? It wouldn’t be the first time Stark got credit for a co-development – the arc reactor.
We’ve seen in “Iron-Man 2” the government takes issue with Tony and the suits so it’s not unbelievable someone might feel the same about Howard, did someone take item 17 before it was ready and the battle was the results of the side effects, like the explosion was a side effect of the jacket overheating; is that why Tony was furious at the general because his invention was misused and misused without his permission? So many questions about that event. I can see the connection between the two plot points, but I wonder about the timeline.
Another great episode.
