I’m definitely looking forward to seeing Jarvis and how he compares to the automated Jarvis we see Tony with in the movies. I don’t think we’ll see much of Howard Stark, but I do look forward to the banter he provides; he was a really fun part to “Captain America”. Speaking of Steve, I hope they touch on him for continuity sake, but I don’t want him to half of the series you know? Keep the romance for him, but I don’t want him to be all there is to Peggy; she can stand on her own ya know.
With the synopsis mentioning Howard being questioned, I wonder if that will play into the rift between he and Vanko in that he’ll make Vanko seem like the traitor and that will give the bad blood, but also make Peggy question him? Didn’t Fury mention trading secrets or actual tech in “Iron Man 2”? Makes you wonder what Peggy would say about Tony had she met him.
I think we’ll see them starting S.H.I.E.L.D. before we’ll see Peggy in another serious relationship during this mini special; I can see them introducting Peggy’s husband but not making hints it’s him. Let the fans wonder, because I’m sure she’ll have male suitors even in the limited episodes, if the character will be the future husband. If this turns into a series by itself then I can see that aspect growing but for these first few episodes, I think they’ll end it with S.H.I.E.L.D. rather than were we see her in “Captain America 2”. They have enough it seems to pack into the limited first episodes.
There’s what we’ve seen in the promos which mostly feature the Stark plot, there the debated “S.H.I.E.L.D.” flashbacks from earlier this season and will we see them fleshed out, plus the mentioned bits from the various films; that’s a far bit to work in without the romance angles.
I wonder if they’ll try and work in any plots which set up the upcoming Marvel film run? “Agent Carter” could be a good flashback show for any history revealed in the new films. She’s got arguably 40-50 years worth of work with the agency so that’s a lot of possible stories.
Looking forward to the series and seeing how it ties into things and how it might open the door for plots with the modern era projects; Marvel’s done well with layering so far.
