Agents of SHIELD Season 6 Episode 3 Review: Fear and Loathing on the Planet of Kitson
Agents of SHIELD’s space storyline heats up in “Fear and Loathing on the Planet of Kitson” as Daisy and Jemma search for Fitz while he and Enoch try to regain the money needed to continue their mission. A casino on Kitson provides the backdrop for one of the most hilarious episodes of the series to date.

Is there a funnier episode than this one? I really don’t know. Chloe and Elizabeth especially brought it; “Ma’am you were under that table for 20 minutes.” “Really?”…and the stairs, never forget the stairs! π
Why in the world would they take off in a season that only has 13 episodes? If it’s some big holiday I get it but otherwise it’s just 13 episodes!
I love Fitzsimmons being cursed. π
I would argue there was not enough Skimmons bar moments; I get we have to show Fitz some but personally I could ditch all his stuff in favor of more drugged Skimmons and Davis scenes. Davis got like one good humor moment and that was surprisingly it. Maybe this should have been a hour and a half long episode (taking out commercials) instead. π
I would call Inok a person; he has feelings like any creature (see his desire for a friend in Fitz), he understands it seems the concept of right and wrong and embraces self preservation along with wanting to protect his friend…he may not be as free spirited as some but I would say Inok is as much a person as any character on this show is.
Maybe it’s because Fitz changed things in S5 so they all come back that’s the reason he’s being hunted; maybe they think if they can stop him early and lock him away they can make the future return to its S5 setting? You would think though if they’re faulting Fitz for something they’d be faulting Inok as well and mention him but it’s just Fitz.
Fitz didn’t detach that much from Aida. π
Here’s to more Ladies’ Night missions!!! π
Daisy has something better than a Fitz, she has a Jemma…sadly the writers don’t want to do a happy relationship for them though. π Shipper feelings aside for a second though, I do wonder if Daisy and May are the current balances to Jemma and Elena being in a relationship, like okay A is happy so B gets to be our single character if that makes sense? Given May’s relationship with Coulson I can’t see them rushing her into anything so she will be the perpetual single lady on this show maybe getting some flirt on but nothing stable but Daisy is the “always the ex never the current” type who they use to hook up with any dude they want to keep in the show for longer than an episode so really her relationships aren’t that but a gateway for others and it’s played as poor Daisy and for the series final she might hook up with someone as a reward. But yeah I feel they are the single balance to Jemma and Elena’s coupledom more than anything.
Spoiler alert: Deke is in next week.
My thing with season 2 in regards to Fitz and Simmons being a pairing is Fitz made it clear how he felt about Jemma at the end of S1 so even if you give her half a season to feel bad about his condition she still had half a season they could have built towards romance with them but every time someone asked Jemma told them she does love Fitz but it’s like a brother so for me the progression just falls apart hard and leaves me saying their romance is forced. The only reason Jemma even agrees to dinner, not necessarily even a date just dinner, with Fitz is because he threatens to kill himself on the mission so she said she’d go to dinner with him to give him a reason to not kill himself essentially; maybe that scene came off different to others but for me it showed how much Fitzsimmons is toxic as romance. Had they had the second half of season 2 be Jemma coming around more to dating Fitz I might not be so hard on the pairing, I’d still say Skimmons is better, but because she said all season long he was a brother to her I feel the relationship is out of character to Jemma Simmons and I don’t like it.
Was it just me or did the end shot of the sky remind anyone else of the “Guardians Of The Galaxy” ship golden force field? It looked like a net over the sky and I don’t know if the gun Sarge fired put it up there or if he was trying to take it down but effect wise it really made me think of Guardians.
Yes, you would think Davis would still be upset – Fitz or no Fitz that he hasn’t had time to see his kid yet; true this is the life in a way they signed up for but I feel it’s easy to also argue if you’re him had they gone back and restocked with supplies, including people maybe, could they have actually rescued Fitz (at the least they wouldn’t have been high so focus would have been better) instead of just seeing him and really it was just Daisy and Jemma who saw him so if he really wanted to push things Davis could make a case for how they were high so how can they trust it was really Fitz. Even if Inok says he was with Fitz Davis could argue he’s just saying that because Jemma talked him into and oh how they could play it like Daisy is agreeing with the story because she cares more about Jemma arguably than he and Piper but again conflict of feelings there for me with a scene like that. As many have said though this might be end of the issues until the next one so I won’t hold my breath for that to be a theme next week even though it fairly could be.
