Although the Broken Lizard troop appear in “Freeloaders,” we find ourselves asking why this is considered a Broken Lizard movie. Whatever the answer may be, Cory and Nathan are back to rewatch this final film in the series before the release of “Super Troopers 2”.
Freeloaders (2011):
Six slackers that mooch off Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz and have been crashing at his California mansion for years struggle to maintain their lifestyle when he informs them that he is selling his home. Individually, the friends seek new living arrangements to no avail, so they attempt to prevent the sale of the home altogether, as well as raise money to purchase it.
Summary:
Although not the highest film on the list, we recommend this movie. It presents interesting characters that engage you to an extent. The story is stretched, which is saying something considering the 77 minute run time. Broken Lizard are barely in the film, appearing for a cameo at best, but what they do is a breath of fresh air.
What’s Up Next?:
We didn’t mention this is the show itself, so if you’re reading this, you’re getting the scoop! You’ll have to tune in to find out why, but we are rewatching the Rutger Haure cult classic, “Split Second.”
Following that, we’ve decided to go deep into the comedy past to rewatch the Abbott & Costello cross-overs with the Universal Monsters! We hope you’ll join us.
