Revolution season 2 episode 17 entitled, “Why We Fight” aired on March 19, 2014 and here are my initial thoughts on “Why We Fight.” The theme of the characters discussing and deciding why they fight began in “Exposition Boulevard” and carried over in a major way in “Why We Fight.”
I liked that Rachel apologized to Charlie. She does not like the woman that Charlie has become and she realizes that she must take a lot of the responsibility for it. She abandoned Charlie and wasn’t around to help Ben with parenting responsibilities and since she’s been back in Charlie’s life she demonstrated a lot of bad behavior herself and been a bad influence on Charlie. Rachel’s apology doesn’t change any of that and won’t make Charlie better over night, but it is a step in the right direction.
Miles told Gene that he’s fighting because of the demons in his head due to his past mistakes and choices. Gene wisely points out that this is a battle that he’ll never win. Miles can only find victory if he fights for a cause greater than his own inner turmoil.
Monroe is back to his murderous was just like we saw in the first season of Revolution. He pounced on the Patriot’s reconditioning camp the first opportunity he had. Connor may not be as on board as Monroe thinks though.
My question this week is, “What will Tom’s next move be?”
