“Shall we play a game?” That quote was dangerous back in the 80’s in the movie “War Games”, and it’s just as dangerous when Samaritan asks it. And for both, the answer is the same; the only way to win is not to play.
But Claire takes up the challenge, and Samaritan has another asset, in spite of the efforts of Team Machine. But this does get Harold Finch back in the game (so to speak), and the band is fully back together again, although playing different parts (so to speak).

With the team spread out to the four winds, with new identities given to them by The Machine, some are fine with their new surroundings, and some most certainly are not. No numbers, and a mad Samaritan in control, give some of our heroes a bit of an itch to get back into the saving people business. But like a determined agent trying to get his band back together, The Machine manages to slowly start moving her chess pieces into position, and even creates a way for them to communicate, all behind the back of Samaritan.
Two all-seeing AIs. Truly, the Panopticon.
