Loss is hard. How do you even begin to mourn an entire universe? Our Paragons must pick up the pieces of their shattered lives and find a way out. They are trapped in the Vanishing Point with a super villain. On a positive note Lex Luthor has a brilliant, albeit dangerous mind. Maybe his scheming can help them escape. Then there’s the question of their loving speedster Barry Allen. Where has he run off to?
Barry has entered the speed force. He believes that could be the key to breaking free. The question still remains. Where is there to go? The antimatter has consumed the entire world and not just one world but all of them. Without an infusion of additional power our scarlet speedster will continue to keep getting ejected out of the speed force back to the darkness of the Vanishing Point. They need more help.
Oliver Queen was not named as a Paragon. He is something else. He has been on this road of transformation since the billionaire playboy got stuck on an island. He did not want to return to Earth when Constantine and John Diggle went to Purgatory to retrieve his soul. Oliver is beyond that now but that doesn’t mean he can’t help friends now. As The Spectre hecan light the spark.
We witnessed how Mar Novu started his universe hopping ways. We saw how his curiosity resulted in the creation of the antimatter universe. In this terrible place rose an Anti-Monitor. He is a tyrant set on death and destruction with shadow demons to serve him. Can the destruction of this horrible place help our heroes restore our universe? Can that enormous amount of power be turned around to recreate some of the billions that were lost in the blink of an eye?
Oliver meets Barry in the speed force to give him advice and a power boost. This team has the harder part of the quest. They all fought valiantly against the shadow demons as Oliver went toe to toe with the Anti-Monitor. The spark lit in their battle caused an explosion that gave Earth its’ rebirth.
The Paragons are disoriented as they are thrust into life in this new place. This is not the dawn of time or a world rising from the ashes of another. This is an Earth full of life and already in the middle of the story. Only the Paragons know what has happened. J’onn, our Paragon of Honor, honors Oliver by telling key people of his sacrifice.
Sara takes charge as the Anti-Monitor threatens to destroy all that Oliver sacrificed to restore. The power he gained as the Spectre was enough to birth a universe but the Anti-Monitor lives on to cause havoc.
Ray, Ryan, and Wells put their brilliant minds together to solve a problem. Brute force alone is unable to overcome this villain. Wells owes this world his intellect considering he is the reason we are in this mess. He released the Anti-Monitor from his prison. How do you solve a big problem? Perhaps make it smaller.
Our Super hero brain trust puts their heads together and with the fast fingers of Barry construct a device. When launched at the Anti-Monitor by Supergirl it really shrinks him down in size. He should be much easier to contain now. You know what else will be easier now? Teaming up with super friends and joining forces against the villains that attempt to harm them. Here on Earth Prime all the heroes coexist and according to the citizens of this planet it has always been this way. What the Paragon’s experienced did happen even if most people won’t have a memory of it. Lex Luthor for example has rewritten his destiny. He has won the Nobel Peace Prize. That can’t be right! I have got to fly. I must gather my Superfriends for a meeting. There is so much to discuss. This is your eye in the sky Green Butterfly. I need you to keep your eyes peeled for small changes we may encounter in the weeks to come. The repercussions of this crisis could be infinite!

Happy 100th episode officially! I know you rated the feedback portion as episode 100 but it feels right this should go first and then feedback so I’m saying congratulations here. Here’s to 100 more and more! 🙂
“Earth Prime citizens” – boo! I make no apologies as you all know I’m not happy about this merger.
You know here’s something I noticed that I didn’t mention in feedback, to be so hyped as Harbinger Lyla really had nothing to do in this episode beyond the “betrayal” moment in part 3 and even that wasn’t really her choice and they never explain why she’s even Harbinger out of everyone. Again I feel we could have cut the Superman parts in hour 2 and used it to do more with her. Again there’s just a lot of miss opportunities with this event and I think moving forward there’s going to be a lot to try and straighten out concept wise because they mashed everything together now!
As one fan posed recently, what is the point of villains of the season moving forward now? Unless they break the wall as it were to canonize every villain always attacking at the exact same time surely someone is going to be free to help others out; for example Kara can beat up every villain Barry has ever had, Barry could round up Alice for Kate at a moments notice as he’s supposedly the fastest man alive, Kate can help fund Jefferson’s crew if need be for gear, and the Legends having access to time could be scouts to say if a decision was good or bad and they just keep trying things until they get the desired outcome. I’m sure they’ll come up with something but I have a feeling moving forward it’s going to be like Superman in “Supergirl” once they let him be used – some fans are going to ask why isn’t X available for backup. Yes they have their own jobs and fights but to be busy every time someone needs help is going to feel unrealistic. I feel this merger has made everything more comic booky and I’m not sure that’s a good thing; I get it makes crossovers between people easier but wasn’t that what the portal devices were for?
Side question: is this why Brainy didn’t know about Crisis, because he’s from a post Crisis timeline? Then if that’s true why did Mon act the same when he returned? How is Winn going to act when he returns because J’onn surely couldn’t give him his memories back that far off; are they just going to handwave the future as a bubble so he’s the same Winn we last saw because if so I have issues with that, again I’m not sure they thought out all of the small details with this merger.
I have to agree with Cammie, the introduction of destiny can just rewrite what it wants gave me a moment of feeling like “What does any of this matter now then?” watching because if a Marvu always comes through as Anti Monitor said where was that Monitor in the end scene…didn’t they need him to create Anti Monitor? How can there be an Anti Monitor if there’s no Monitor to create him? Also isn’t destiny by it’s named a destined feat; when Oliver defeated his plan to destroy the universe didn’t that destroy Anti Monitor? This is why I have to put “Invasion” over Crisis in my crossover event rankings because as messy as it could be trying to put everything together for that event it still makes more sense to where the characters are than this event does; this is a very pretty visually at times crossover and there’s some awesome Kate and Kara moments but on the whole it just leaves more questions than it could ever answer I feel.
LOL to Geoff’s “You mean the Care Bears stare?”. That was a good one Geoff! 🙂 “I was expecting an effect.” – same Harley!
Here’s yet another question: how did Lex influence the book to change the universe when they come to Earth Prime but no one else could? Surely they were feeling more than just their hope, love, and honesty so wouldn’t that mix with their stuff? I know he’s a genius but really that screams manufactured plot coming set up and I didn’t like that.
I didn’t understand Kate’s speed force drop off point because that’s not where she met Oliver and none of them known yet her darkest moment or best victory so how did she end up at a meeting between Oliver and Ray?! Was it just so she could hear some message? Surely they could have given her that in some other form.
Lex as the new season bad guy again makes S5A if you will feel pointless because really what was the point of Leviathan being hyped at the end of S4 if they were just going to be a hit it and quit it villain? Also I’m already mad that they’re probably going to use this reboot if you will to let Kara off the hook with Lena and they’ll end up fighting over Lex and if he’s good or not/can be saved and this is going to play into the “battle for Lena’s soul” if that plot is still even in play because messing with memories is exactly the type of non trust Lena was talking about with them. It does give Kara a chance to do it right with Lena by telling her she’s Supergirl now but still it feels very convenient in everything and that brings viewing excitement down for me.
I honestly feel there’s so much to clean up from Crisis now and so much to try and work out who knows what and why did X happen but not Y that it pretty much makes the “Flash”, “Supergirl”, and maybe “Black Lightening” (I don’t watch it so I can’t say for sure) current seasons feel like burnt seasons because all the set up you invested in is now pointless because there’s different plots/essentially a new half season with concepts that don’t fit continuity. “Arrow” was setting up Crisis so it’s fine and “Batwoman” was in her origin season so I’m not sure how much it will really get effected and “Legends Of Tomorrow” has yet to start but the other shows it’s basically a season of relearning what’s the rules of the world in a sense and who the characters are so you can’t really focus on plots like you could previously and again that makes it feel more like work than presents fun viewing. I like our “Supergirl” characters I don’t want to see alternate versions of them in this context. I’ve seen alternate characters after a plot reboot and I’m not a fan. #AlwaysBitterOverBlackSiren
Lol at Harley suggesting Barry is wise!
I hope Dinah gets her cry back!
“Stargirl” being a streaming show first makes sense now Geoff why it’s currently on its own Earth so thanks for that information.
Yay for baby Sara being in the future 2040 spin off!
I disagree with Cammie, I think there can still be spin offs, “Flash” has Nora perfectly set up (Leah/Lia, however they spelt it, better be alive in this!), but like everything it depends on if the concept is good and who’s the lead and supporting team members.
You’re not alone in the caution John.
Yay for more Cammie and Martin with the future spinoff!
Boo to no “Batwoman” coverage! How do we get that to happen Geoff? Do you need a Robin, or since we’re talking Batwoman a Question, because I will totally interview for that position. 🙂
