Time bomb is a telling title. Mario is set to blow. Ed is ready to blow apart Tabitha & Butch. Bruce & Crew have joined with the Whisper Gang to blow away the Court of the Owls. Who blow up next?
Doctor Time Bomb:
Mario Falcone (James Carpinello), Lee and Carmine Falcone (John Doman) are testing out the rehearsal dinner venue. After the meal and conversation, the valet goes for the car. He is blown to bits. Jim and the GCPD arrive. Jim talks with Carmine asking who it might be that was targeting him. Lucius gives Jim the scoop that the bomb was military grade. Harvey is now the acting captain and they go after the bomber. He was killed, but they find photos and schedules for Mario not Carmine.
Mario is leaving the hospital when assassins attack. Jim comes and saves the day. Mario knows that if they are after him they will go after Lee and no place is safe. He skips out from the GCPD and sets himself as bait. They attack and Jim arrests one and Mario, now clearly under the effects of Alice’s blood, questions and kills on of the assassins.
At the GCPD, Jim gets no answers from the Assassin. While Jim and Barnes talk, Carmine cuts out the tooth of the Assassin. The tooth bears an owl symbol. Carmine sets a meeting with Kathryn. He says that he got the Court Indian Hill and if they go after Mario he will burn Gotham to the ground regardless of his life. Kathryn promises that Mario is safe as long as Carmine does what the Court of Owls says.
Lee stops by Jim’s place on the way to the rehearsal dinner. Mario has told her about the assassins. She wants the truth from him about his feelings. Jim says he messed up in letting her go and not pursuing her. Their timing is not right. She kisses him goodbye and gets back in the cab. Mario is watching from a distance. Two muggers attack him but he is rage filled and declaring Lee is his. He is a time bomb ready to explode.
Ed’s House of Pain:
Ed has captured Tabitha and Butch (due to Butch getting takeout from his favorite restaurant). He is a time bomb of planed rage. He begins to torture Butch to find out why he killed Isabella. But Butch is standing up to the torture just fine. Then Ed switches plans. He will use Butch’s love for Tabitha against him. She has to choose. Loose her hand and save Butch or save her hand and loose Butch. Butch confesses to shooting Isabella and Tabitha so impressed with his willingness to die for her has her hand cut off. Ed is in shock because he knows Butch didn’t kill Isabella.
Meanwhile, Barbara as Stabby Babbs goes to Penguin’s to find out where Butch & Tabitha are. He reveals that it was Ed behind it all. Babbs later bribes Olga the maid for info and whips the S&M shop clerk to find out where Ed is at. Babbs storms in after Tabitha passes out. Ed leaves. Barbara and Butch get Tabitha and her hand to the hospital. Barbara knows that she can use Penguin’s love for Ed and the fact Penguin had Isabella killed to start a war. Then She, Butch and Tabitha can reap the rewards. Her time bomb of information will blow soon!
Will Bruce’s Whisper Silence the Owls:
Bruce has spend days researching the key they found in the necklace. Even with the great beds and the food Alfred has been cooking, Selina and Ivy are ready to leave. But it is not safe. Ivy has whipped up some more control perfume and gets Alfred to disarm the alarm so she can leave. Selina takes and cleans the key. It is engraved with the Court of Owls symbol. Bruce and Alfred realize they need to contact the Court to let them know they didn’t go back on their word.
Ivy has been captured by the Whisper Gang, who was pursuing them last week. Bruce, Selina and Alfred meet them for the exchange. But it seems that the Whisper Gang wants the key so they can take down the Court. Since both groups want to take down the Court they work together. Whisper Gang leader Luca Volk (Costa Ronin) and partner Dimitri are ready to go to work. But Talon comes in and kills them both. The Court of Owls has big plans and this ticking time bomb will destroy our heroes if they don’t watch out!
Closing Thoughts:
I loved this week’s ep because we got to see how deeply involved the Court of Owls is with Gotham. They know and have leverage on Carmine and Mario. They have plans that need de-railing and without the Whisper Gang’s help Bruce and crew will be in trouble. I also love that the bandaid Jim saw on the back of Mario’s neck (in Red Queen) is paying off. I believe (and said in the Red Queen podcast) that Jervis dosed Mario when they took him out at his house. I also believe that the Court was behind that as well. Lee said they now have a test for the infection, but the problem is there is no cure yet. I also love that Babbs is going to try and take down Penguin and Ed at the same time. She is such a delicious villainess!
