For weeks we have seen the chess master, Theo, carefully planning and making small moves, but Tonight’s The Night for some big moves.  The question is who will be left on the board when the evening is over?  Did his gambit with Barbara and Bruce go as planned?  Did he really count on Bruce giving that answer?  Oh so much to discuss!

Theo has become mayor, pushed Penguin off the board (for now), and is ready to make his move against Bruce.  But their is a knight blocking Bruce.  That knight is Jim Gordon and he has the GCPD behind him.  So Theo sets Barbara out to distract Bruce and keep him out of the way.

Barbara goes to the GCPD and turns herself in.  Jim wants to help Barbara but what is his real need is solid facts on Theo.  Captain Barnes has listened to Jim & Bullock but needs firm proof.  Jim will follow Barbara’s bus to crazy town to get it.  That deeply concerns Barnes and Leslie. But they go along with the plan.  Barbara directs Jim, Bullock and Strike Force 2.0 into a trap. Jim is taken to church.  Barbara had a nightmare wedding at the start of the ep.  Well it seems that tonight’s the night for Jim’s nightmare wedding.  Barbara & Tabitha even bring in Leslie and Tabitha tells Barbara to savior it.  Barbara tries to prove to Jim that he should be with her.  She tries to throw secrets in Leslie’s face to divide the relationship.  But Leslie knows it all.  The issue is both Leslie & Barbara have confronted Jim with aspects of his nature.  The question is will he use this information from two vastly different sources to make changes in his character?  Jim escapes and confronts Barbara but she let’s goes and falls.  She is in critical condition.  Will she end up in Indian Hill too?

While Barbara is keeping Jim occupied, Theo is working on Bruce.  He distracts him with Silver and then asks him about what he wants to do to his parent’s killer.  Theo talks about cleaning up Gotham but needing help.  He confronts Bruce with the wrong doing at Wayne Enterprises and tells Bruce he is not strong enough to fight it. Let me by the company, I’ll fight the corruption, you will be free & rich, oh and I’ll give you your parent’s killer & accomplices wrapped up with a bow.  Bruce broods in the Bat Cave.  He weighs the time needed for training needed to take down the corruption vs the number of lives that will be ruined in the meantime.  Alfred gives him good advice and tells him the Wayne legacy is not the company but Bruce.  Bruce just wants it to be over.  Bruce takes Alfred to Theo’s and refuses to sign over the company.  Just then Jim & the GCPD break in and arrest Theo for Mayor James’ kidnapping & torture.  Theo flicks the Wayne file into the fire and it burns up.  I know Theo is the chess master but Bruce & Jim seem to have taken him by surprise.  But that would seem majorly out of character for him.  Has he planned this as well or will the Brotherhood come to his rescue?

Lastly Ed is off in the woods to bury Kristen.  He is giving her a send off when a hunter interrupts his riddle.  He kills the hunter and has to go back to get his bone saws in the car.  When he gets back his sandwiches have been eaten and a trail of blood leads him to a trailer. There the bloody and broken Penguin is crying out for help.  Looks like tonight’s the night for our first super villain alliance.

These questions and more will be discussed on the podcast!
