The second episode of Gotham, entitled ‘Selina Kyle’ did not disappoint. We are happy to report that the high caliber storytelling and tone carried over from last week’s pilot. In fact, we liked this episode a bit more than the pilot!
‘Selina Kyle’ brings us a bit more focus on Selina’s character, as well as the introduction of a couple more villains. This episode also dabbles with serious issues like abduction, cutting, and self-mutilation. Jim Gordon’s character development and the Fish Mooney character continue to be intriguing to watch.
This week, we received some great feedback from Geoff Gentry (@xforce11) and David Healey shared his Dark Knight Dave’s Batman Blog post with us!
The end of the episode leaves us with the following questions:
- Why has Arkham Asylum been closed for 15 years? Is it because Bullock just shoots all the bad guys before the courts can deem them criminally insane?
- Will Selina and Gordon figure out a way to help each other and why do they both want to help Bruce?
- Will the relationship between Lazlo and Fish Mooney become a defining moment in her journey to become a Gotham super villain? Was she upset about the threat to Lazlo or her power?
