Teleporting is an awesome power! Imagine if you were running late for work. You could be punched in on the time clock and sitting at your desk in no time. In this weeks episode of The Flash teleporting was used to commit a crime. Shawna broke her boyfriend Clay out of Iron Heights. Barry and Joe were called in to investigate. An organic residue was found and the mystery began.

At first it was believed that Clay was a Metahuman. Upon further examination it was discovered that it was in fact Shawna. When Clay’s cells came in contact with Shawna’s they adopted the properties of hers. Shawna used teleportation to free Clay and steal money to pay Marcus. Marcus was a crime boss in Central City. Until Clay’s debt to Marcus was settled they would always be hunted. When Marcus witnessed Shawna’s power he did not want to let them go even though the debt was paid. The team at Star Labs figured out Shawna’s weakness. She cannot teleport in the absence of light. Barry used this knowledge to defeat Shawna and Clay slipped away in the dark.

Meanwhile Cisco felt guilty about what happened to Ronnie. Caitlin told him to let it go but he still felt responsible. This lead him to the Pipeline to try to get information out of Hartly. Hartly told Cisco about Martin Stein a Scientist that specialized in transmutation and quantum splicing. Stein could take two things and make them one. On the night of the explosion the dark matter merged Ronnie and Stein into one. Hartley then used his cochlear device to incapacitate Cisco and escape.

My favorite part of the episode was when Caitlin and Barry tried to move on with their lives. Barry got a date with Linda a reporter at the same paper as Iris. It was great to see Caitlin get out of the lab, let go, and have fun. Barry was both a hero and a gentleman. Barry took Caitlin home safe and tucked her into bed. Barry then visited his Father. His Father referenced a newspaper with The Flash on the front page. I think Barry’s Father figured it out. He said, “If The Flash were my son. I would tell him to be careful. That he is a hero. His Father is proud of him.”

Will more people start to identify Barry as The Flash now that he is pictured in the newspaper? Will Iris get jealous now that Barry has a date? Does Caitlin have any romantic feelings for Barry? Has dark matter affected animals in Central City? There is something large and menacing in the sewers. Tune in next week on Tuesday 8/7c on CW.
