The Flux, the Lupari, Swarm, the Weeping Angels, Division, and a new companion; it seems that the 13th Doctor is going out on a high note. For what might be the very first Doctor Who Halloween special “Flux: Chapter one – The Halloween Apocalypse” Starts with a frantic pace that doesn’t end until the episode does. In this final season for the 13th Doctor, we are treated to a six episode serial. What a throw back to classic Who. This season opener gives us new aliens, old adversaries, ancient foes, and a first time companion. Add to that, a possibly dying TARDIS, a reality eating Flux, a space station shaped like a rose, and a good old fashioned Victorian mystery and this promises to be quite a season.

The Doctor and Yaz chase a shaggy alien around time and space for information about Division. This inadvertently leads them back to Earth where they discover that the alien, Karvanista is benign, and has a plan that involves saving Dan Lewis from the oncoming cataclysm of the Flux. Unknown to the Doctor is that The Flux is not the only new danger out there. An ancient foe by the name Swarm and his sister Azure re-enter the Doctor’s life. According to Swarm, he and the Doctor have been battling for quite some time. The Doctor has no memory of either him or their epic struggle that seemingly stretched across time and space. Now the Doctor must find a way to save the Earth, defeat the Flux, discover whatever she can about Swarm.
