Hey Underground! This is Miss Ice delivering up this week’s Rapid Reactions segment! The mid-season, or “winter”, finale is entitled “The Man in the Yellow Suit” and heavily features Barry’s pursuit of the man who killed his mother. There were some huge callbacks to episode 1 and even pre-episode 1 (back to the Arrow season 2 prequels). Caitlin also makes a shocking discovery and we get to see another character from the DC universe!
HIGHLIGHTS
1) Darker episode & more enjoyable Barry
2) Reverse Flash AND Firestorm!
3) Barry & Iris conversations were much more genuine

A Spinal Tap 11 out of 10. 8)
Big and little reveals with this one. It set up a lot of things. Most of all this episode was just kick ass fun from start to finish.
Plus it had a lot of heart. Really liked how the show handled the thorn that many viewers seem to have about Barry hiding his feelings for Iris. I’ve been cool with it – show needed to build up some emotional bank before making that reveal. And it paid off beautifully. That was a pretty poignant reveal of feelings by Barry to Iris. Also love the relationship between Joe and Barry as well as Barry and his father. All wonderfully acted and emotional scenes.
All that plus we get the reveal of Ronnie as the DC version of the Human Torch. Good SFX for him and the Flash/Reverse Flash fight scenes.
Fantastic episode. And a wonderfully bittersweet Christmas one to boot.
