Can Sleepy Hollow Survive Pandora?

In season one it was the Horseman of Death. In season two it was the Horseman of War. Now as a new day dawns in the small town of Sleepy Hollow a mysterious stranger brings a whole box of trouble.

According to mythology Pandora is the first woman, made of the earth. She is the giver of all things. Prometheus stole the fire from the heavens. Zeus wanted revenge so he asked Hephaestus to form a woman out of the clay of the earth. Aphrodite gave her beauty. Hermes made her bold and cunning. Each Olympian gave her some power that would lead to the ruin of the human race. Pandora was married to Epimetheus and  Zeus gave her a present. He gave her a stone jar. When Pandora opened the jar evil spirits swarmed out. These evil spirits would plague mankind for all time.

When Pandora arrived in Sleepy Hollow the first thing she did was capture the Horseman of Death. Then she released a Chinese Demon called the Yaoguai into the town. The Demon’s purpose was to collect fear. Ichabod and Abbie have been apart for months. Abbie has moved on from small town cop to FBI agent. Ichabod was in jail for transporting ancient artifacts. He was dealing with the pain of losing his wife and son by diving into history and researching his family tree. On his travels he discovered a stone tablet. On the tablet was a drawing of the Destroyers. Does the Destroyers refer to the Witnesses?

Each mystical being defeated appears to be giving Pandora more power. She gained death from the Horseman, fear from the Yaoguai and secrets from the Wraith. We also learn of Ichabod’s past with Betsy Ross. I believe her insights from the past will be invaluable to securing the future of Sleepy Hollow.

Jenny has crossed paths with Joe Corbin. Joe told Jenny she and Abbie are the only family he has left. He wants to follow in his father’s footsteps and help Jenny track down magical artifacts. Currently they are on the trail of the Anubis Shard. In Egyptian mythology Anubis is the God of the underworld. He weighs hearts and determines if a soul is worthy of the afterlife. I like the formation of a second team. Now Joe and Jenny can be completing one mission while Ichabod and Abbie accomplish another. Double the teams. Twice the fun.

Don’t give up. There are a couple more facts I need to share. At the very bottom of Pandora’s box of horrors lies hope. If there is hope left for Sleepy Hollow Ichabod and Abbie will find it.
