Case Profile for Esteban
Season 4 kicks off right where we left things as Red and the team assess the situation in Cuba. Through the help of Esteban, a local who has been helping the CIA, Red is able to track down Liz who is being held by Alexander Kirk, AKA Constantine Rostov, the man claiming to be Liz’s father. Meanwhile Tom and baby Agnes are taking a Sunday drive around Cuba with Mato a bounty hunter for hire who is delivering the baby to Kirk but not Tom. Will the team arrive to save Liz in time, what MacGyver moves will Tom use to get out of his situation? The boys are back to break it all down on this episode of The Blacklist Exposed.
Be sure to answer our profiling question of the week: What do YOU think happened to Liz as a child in regards to Kirk and Reddington?. Visit our feedback page to leave a response or call +1 (304) 837-2278.

The Music of Esteban
As we open the season we hear over the empty crib “Predator” from Gadi Sassoon which is appropriate as Red is on a mission of blood with blood. “Como Se Baila” from the latin mambo orchestra keeps Tom happy in the trunk of Mato’s car but clearly is not Agnes’ style of music. (man that kid has some lungs.) “Se Fue from Sr Ortegon plays as Tom tries on his halloween costume as MacGyver. “Verdadero Amor” from Alex Torres and Los Reyes Latinos, greets a pants-less Ressler as he enters the Cuban cafe. Finally we hear The Losers radio version of “This is War” as Red and Dembe and team go after Kirk as Kaplan finds Agnes with Romina.
You can hear these songs via the official Blacklist playlist on Spotify or the same playlist recreated by us on Apple Music.

Of course Samar is upset with Liz. She gave Reddington her brother to save Liz. HER BROTHER. And Liz threw that sacrifice away. I would be upset too.
Absolutely. The only female character who is a regular who can actually act besides Mr.Kaplan who is not a regular is good too. I used to think it was the writers till Thursday night.
As always, there were positives and negatives.
1) The Cuban shoreline, with or without seaplanes, looks an awful lot like the north end of the Chesapeake. Particularly telling were the non-tropical, deciduous trees native to the Northeast coastal swath of North America.
2) Who the hell could keep Tom locked in a trunk for more the two seconds if he didn’t want to be there? (no one). And who the hell beats Dembe in a one-on-one MMA slugfest? (no one). Man, my hero worship just got lumber-jacked down to ankle level with this episode!
3) A big thing I noticed is that the ‘production value’ of this premiere felt like it had about $500K lopped out of the budget. Some of the standards for shot composition, actor one-shots, and for studio sound track (music, not audio FX) seemed to have slipped a peg, or two, over the summer. Maybe they don’t have the commercial ad cash they did in previous seasons. I know what TBL looks and sounds like… and this didn’t give me a TBL vibe. I will add though that they had a ton more location filming than normal and almost no studio work. That may have diminished the vibe some.
‘nuf said. I will listen to the podcast now and see if any of this was mentioned by Team TBLE and friends.
I am surprised to see people communicating wth no problems using cell phones in Cuba. It is well known that technology is not working properly in Cuba. Primitive internet, low or inexistent cellular signals… Also the car they used is too recent. Should have been a 1950 car and not 1960… Very unlikely that a grand pa with a kid in an old car will have a cell phone…? A lot of details that dont make sense…
