I’m actually shocked that the “Arrow” spin off hasn’t been green lit but the Superman show was because honestly as bad as this episode was I’d rather watch it grow than see CW Superman. He has 1000 movies and shows featuring him, let’s use this opportunity to do some B characters if you will such as a Canary team.
I’d argue the fallout from Crisis and trying to make it feel organically combined is more ambitious than the crossover itself.
I’ve definitely been thinking about the Felicity scene Dad El because if the Anti Monitor is right and a Monitor always comes through then it’s possible that moment still exists and Felicity will be with Oliver on another plane but if they say Crisis ends with no Monitor then technically that scene should no longer exist because even if give Felicity those memories that world isn’t there anymore so it did happen but shouldn’t happen again so how will THIS Felicity get to Oliver beyond Heaven? Again I think the fallout of things and trying to make that work with what we saw is going to be the hardest part of this special!
I see Laurel 3.0 as the one we’ve been seeing since they redeemed Earth 2 Laurel; she was on Earth 1 when the merger happened so when she has her memories back it’s still the person we’ve known. If she has changed I HOPE she’s more Black Siren pre-redemption and we can have our much needed anti villain back again but I’m not holding my breath.
William BETTER be a regular as he’s easily the best or one of the best at least characters!
If I remember correctly Dinah Drake, who’s Dinah Laurel Lance’s mother, in the comics is a private investigator so cop light; Laurel’s dad/Dinah’s husband is a cop in the comics. Speaking of spouses, taking a moment to appreciate Laurel 3.0’s comment of “Who are you?!” to Dinah when she revealed she got married at 21. I think their back and forth plus William will be my favorite aspects of this spin off. 🙂
Nyssa; always Nyssa for a guest!!!
Yes to Zoe being a main cast member also along with William!
MAN after 6 years they better give us some adult baby Sara content!!! This is the perfect way to bring her back into play and make up for those years we didn’t have her so yes definitely to her recurring at the very least! And by recurring I mean she’s in at least half the season episodes each season for a minimum of 5-10 minutes because the CW owes us on this front; it was 6 years, I don’t choose to keep her off that long so yeah writers you have making up to do with that character for fans. Note: she doesn’t have to be with her brothers either all of the time, she can mix in with Laurel 3.0 and Dinah, Mia, William since she would be technically around his age also if not a bit older…just let her work the group; again you have six years of absence to make up for.
I get Cisco using tech to enhance J’onn’s ability to reach someone but say powers are just as easy to use as a baseball card trade…what’s the point of super powered individuals in this universe if you can just manufacture their powers? I just really felt irritated by that reveal; I get it makes for a quick explanation but it’s one treading on someone’s toes if you will and I’m not ok with the toes that got stepped on as it were even if the character okayed it…again I feel all these post Crisis details are just creating more issues than the writers maybe realized because while on the surface they may seem like small hand waves if you look any level of close you’ll see how big some plot issues can become if you pull on that thread.
JJ as Deathstroke is like “Gotham” killing Bruce’s parents in the first episode, why; we know what’s coming so why rush it…explore a new part of the story for a bit first! That was just such a disappointment.
Laurel 3.0 is thirsty for the ladies and I make no apologies about saying it. ? William doesn’t have to be the lone queer character on this series writers; bisexuality is a thing! She doesn’t have to get serious just date/sleep around with mainly women and like 2 dudes over the series and then marry one of her female love interests, it’s easy!
Dinah’s clocktower loft TOTALLY had me personally flashing back to the “Birds Of Prey” series that was on CW in early 2000s because their HQ was a clock tower. Black Canary is a founding member of the Birds Of Prey (Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl is the founder/co-founder – idea creator of the group) so again a nice little nod if that’s what it was all too! Side note: is just me or did Dinah’s apartment also look like a redressed Olicity season four apartment? That was a pretty set so I’m all for them bringing it back to us again for this.
“Why couldn’t Sara take five seconds to save Bianca?” – this is totally fair Kate and what I mean by the fallout is more ambitious than the crossover because why couldn’t Sara do it? Ok you can argue she’s busy but she’s also the Paragon Of Destiny with a time ships she debatably could have made it work. How the writers on all shows will now explain why can’t X or Y help out to make it easy is definitely going to interesting and a challenge for sure for them I feel; sadly I feel most stuff will just be handwaved away or poorly explained such as how Cisco could copy a biological element of J’onn but they might occasionally get clever and have some good explanations. Again not holding my breath because it’s a lot of little details from a handful of shows to keep up with; I hope they can do it but I’m not going to get my hopes up on this because of episode time constraints and the fact even if they come up with a cool answer this week another show’s episode later could undo it.
I really enjoy Black Siren, I would love her more if they hadn’t redeemed her but we all know my feelings there, but I certainly can support Kate being upset over her “waking” Mia because that was crossing a line. That said that’s the kind of stuff anti heroes/anti villains do so more of Laurel making choices for others and them dealing with the fallout because she’s an anti character! 😀 Antis are not a bad thing either writer as often times they’re the most fun characters.
Disagree, I can’t stand the idea of a love triangle between Mia and the Diggle brothers because love triangles period are rarely done well so pass on that for me thanks! Even if I wasn’t so against triangles as a romance plot I couldn’t buy a triangle with this because again the Deathstroke JJ plot is just killing my excitement; I won’t be shocked at all if they use her love for pre memories him to change him back or make him some anti hero version and we’ve seen that plot how many times so again no thank you. The romance between Mia and the Diggle brothers now is the least exciting thing to me! When JJ didn’t remember and was a new character that had some intrigue for me personally because it was a new plot but now we’re back to the story essentially we saw before and I wasn’t into it then and I’m not now, sorry creators; the setting may be cleaned up visually with the bright lights and less violence but it’s still the same flash forwards we’ve been seeing so I have to be honest and say for me I personally care more about those who will be side characters than I do the 3 likely focused of Mia, JJ, and Connor.
