I disagree Flash, this should not be the new cast as there is a glaring omission; you’d have to get Emily in things to continue for me. The character of adult William continues to be a highlight each time he’s on screen so I hope he’s in the Mia spin off; I’m actually more excited for sassy Laurel in the spin off with Zoe than I necessarily am Mia. Sorry Cammie, I know you love her but again I want to see which version of her we’re going to get before I get excited as I don’t like this season Mia being what feels like handicapped compared to last season Mia just to “build her up”; again if that was the path they shouldn’t have made her proficient last season in so much – that should have been her learning season so this could be her showcase season to show fans why they should watch beyond because of who she’s related to.
I agree bring on Nyssa and Nyssara!!!
Juliana does have a nice voice! And smile and eyes and personality. Juliana, like Katrina, is swoon worthy. 🙂
“Yeah Buddy, I knew.” – ugh that clip, you can just hear dad Stephen in that I feel. It was a sweet moment for sure! Again adult William may be my favorite part of the future stuff well one of with adult Zoe.
“Oh H*ll no, I would never advise anyone to listen to Oliver Queen. He’s kind of a d*ck!” – I love “I hate Oliver!” Laurel! 🙂 I get they want to keep her a hero but I do wish she hadn’t of talked Mia out of killing Grant; again why can’t this series embrace anti-heroes? Also bring back Zoe!
We know Laurel won’t betray Oliver even if she gets close to doing it because they want her to be a hero too much so that scene was meh to me honestly; had they embraced anti hero Laurel more up to this this could have been a good talking point for the build up but they’ve made it pretty she’s not going to betray him as she hates him…if that was her goal she would have done something by now. She’ll definitely do things to mess him over because she’s understandably mad about her Earth but at the end someone (Dinah or Mia) will talk her out of it so a nice moment but we know how the story ends most likely so it’s hard to get excited by it.
Lol to Flash talking about the cellphones. 🙂
Ha ha Aaron!
I do love Felicity as well, but I am doing ok with who we have, this episode was just too good with all of them to not want more!
I agree with you about Mia, she actually was annoying me in this one with the angry you left me teenager bit…how dare you treat him like that when you have no idea what happened…you were only a baby!! You should be thankful and grateful you get ANY time with him right now!!
Honestly Flash, I’m surprised Mia reacted at all to Oliver. You always see the “moody teen” approach so I was hoping ARROW would take a different route where Mia avoids Oliver because he’s kind of nothing to her, by that I mean yeah he’s her dad but she didn’t grow up with him so why would she care what he says or way or another. That would have been a unique take I think as it’s definitely a concept we don’t see a lot on TV.
Mia could have eventually come around to see this time as a gift but I wish her conflict with Oliver was more “we don’t know each other so leave me alone old man” than “you abandoned us”.
Is it fair of Mia to say Oliver picked the world basically over them and be upset? Sure. It’s also cliché though.
This episode to me on the whole was honestly just okay and I’ve enjoyed the others this season more; I have to think it’s the new kids that are downside for me because I don’t care about JJ to being with (team baby’s Sara), I have a hard time trusting the writers to keep known characters villains (#alwaysbitteroverSiren), Connor is okay but his interactions with everyone just take me out of scenes more often than not – did we really need him punching in the background to do the Dinah-John scene, and Mia again feels inconsistent to last year so I’m conflicted towards her now and which version will we get come spin off time. The only good aspect as everyone said is William; the actor playing him is killing it and the writing is well done. Maybe it is because we’ve known him more that I have this attachment to him but I also feel it is the actor just being charming like no tomorrow with this character.
I also didn’t care about Curtis, I love they let Echo come back for the final season but I agree with those who asked was Curtis really necessary in this episode. To be fair to him he was handled well and didn’t feel annoying like some previous appearances but still it was obvious he was there because of the final season. As I said above I don’t see Laurel turning on Oliver as much as I’d love to see her be an anti villain so that plot feels like a waste of time coming and with only 4 episodes left really (the crossover is kind of a throw away episode as it’s about everyone not ARROW) there’s not time to waste. Then again maybe they do need the filler to stretch the season out to make 10 episodes instead of this being a 5 episode wrap up but yeah I’m not buying it so as cool as the scene was it was pretty meaningless.
It wasn’t a bad episode, but compared to what we’ve gotten so far this season I do personally feel this might be the weakest yet.
The emotional impact of knowing what could happen and the kids interacting with their parents was big yes but not enough allow to put this episode at the top so far for me. Maybe had Mia killed Grant I would have been excited for the fallout but as is it was a decent watch but last week so far is still my favorite I’d say. The season opener was pretty good too. 🙂
