[sc:astop]Just as Star City has been taken over by The Dragon, Arrow has been taken over by The Dragon, as this week’s episode follows the story of our villain, from his dark origins and dark present, with a peak at a dark future. While Team Arrow is disbanded, Team Dragon is stronger than ever, and we get some answers about their goals and intended endgame.
This spring Arrow will be airing on on Thursdays at 9pm ET. Our podcast episodes will be posted the following Saturday/Sunday, so we can accept email/voice feedback through Friday night – and maybe an early Saturday morning submission might make it in if you’re quick. 🙂

Because she was absent this week and that just won’t do writers, https://mobile.twitter.com/JulianaHarkavy/status/984520231308546048/photo/1 !
I’m excited to see what Beth does as well just because honestly it’s great to hear of a female getting the solo job like any guy, yes I know there are some female showrunners in the DCU but they’re usually co-showrunners where as here she’ll be the head and while Emily Andras and Shondra Rimes still exist a female solo showrunner is still rare so yay for her finally getting her chance and I hope she shows this wasn’t just the right move but arguably one they may have should made sooner. Also as Cammie pointed out she’s had some hit episodes so it’s not just a ploy hire as some might argue – she’s got the skills to back it up. Congratulations!
I hope “Supergirl” goes to season 10 also because while it does have a glaring Mon El problem, in my opinion, it’s arguably been the best series as a whole comparing season to season. I still feel they have the best season one to any DC show outside of Bruce Timms’ “Justice League” cartoon; live action base they’ve got it down. Given it’s a hit for the network even in its low points I’d be surprised if “Arrow” goes out before then.
Cammie: “I see what they’re telling me with him but I’m not necessarily interested” – same; as Flash said I get this was a needed episode but it doesn’t really change how I’ve felt about Dragon which is “Eh”; as Cammie said I’m stuck in the middle with him because he’s not as memorable as Prometheus but he’s also not the dullest villain they’ve had because he doesn’t monologue so there is that fresh point for him. I don’t want him off the show without a doubt but I don’t want him to stay either like I have with other characters.
For me Flash Dragon only would have worked coming from an earlier season had they shown more on him because honestly that’s my big issue with him right now – he’s just there until this episode and even with it he’s got a pretty generic background so I’m not finding anything that grabs me with him. I don’t mind him being introduced in this season but had they given me more on him even through dialogue in episodes before I think it would have helped because now there’s a borderline “too late” situation. Again the stereotype backstory doesn’t help grab me nor does the moments of downtime between his actions, I appreciate his patience as that’s kind of new but we’ve seen so little with him the small moments feel like big gaps of nothing so again I’m with Cammie in I get what the writers are doing in part I just don’t care emotionally enough to be interested; if he was attacking team individuals like Adrian did I would probably care because of Dinah and Felicity but because he’s not I’d rather spend the screen time seeing Siren’s plans or how the Diggles are getting along working together again, Dragon can still be a generic bad guy that way but I also get characters I tune in for each week too.
I think Oliver cares about the city, more than Felicity – no, but he cares; Batman level arguably not either but he cares, that said is he mayor material? No that should have been Thea because she knows how to be more underhanded with those who like that method than Oliver who just knows how to punch until he gets what he wants.
How does someone hate Dinah?!
Embrace the honesty Flash!
Flash: “I was just throwing the idea out there”, come pick it back up; you take that ball and go home sir – don’t even bring it to the Nyssa yard! 🙂
I agree with Flash in Siren and Dragon had some good banter this episode but I still care more about Siren than I do him. SO AGREE WITH CAMMIE ABOUT SIREN EMBRACING DRAGON’S METHODS AND TOPPING THEM! So much Black Siren goodness in the “Favorite Moments” this week, thanks Flash!
Ugh can we not go back to the mountain as it was ridiculous he survived that; I don’t care how much training he had – he was shirtless in freezing temperatures and he felt off a cliff with no hospital close by, Oliver should have died in that episode so no thank you to another round of hand waving plots to that extreme! I’m all for Oliver getting hurt and we see him in the hospital for episodes which wakes him up maybe to the fact he needs help and allows John or Dinah to lead the team, not in the suit or hey Roy could rock it again but John is still in the lead to show as Cammie has said Spartan isn’t a demotion, so they get hero moments to show the team is equal and just because it’s called “Arrow” doesn’t mean others are less to the extreme some may feel but no S3 mountain level bull please! Keep it believable with his survival rate.
If Felicity is pregnant bring back Donna! That said I kind of hope she isn’t because they have enough kids with William on currently they don’t need a baby; save that for like season 9 or 10. Let Olicity enjoy their coupledom as is before bringing in a kid; I look forward to overprotective Oliver when it does happen though and Felicity schooling him on she’s not china so back up some but he is cute also so keep up the bits she likes.
Salty Cammie is one of my favorite Cammies. 🙂
I agree with Cammie, any redemption for Laurel would be a disservice to her! Also Katie given how they misused her during season four.
“Oh look, there’s a seat.” was a great moment in the episode, possibly the best! 🙂
If you want a great DC show and haven’t seen it yet watch Bruce Timms’ Justice League cartoons – “Justice League” and “Justice League: Unlimited”; I’d agree it’s the best DC show ever because of the great writing and character work!
Best Lois Lane ever…that’s some big talk Flash; can you watch YouTube clips and still feel that way because I don’t care to watch the full series. If you’re looking to tempt Cammie though tell her Oliver in “Smallville” is played by Kevin on “This Is Us” given that’s a show she knows thus could reference how she might enjoy that aspect at least.
The audio quality was good Flash, you did good editing to make it hearable so no worries! The only nitpick I could see is the sign off music popping in at times during the last 10 minutes but it wasn’t enough to take from the overall podcast this week so again you did a good job.
