Animals have been our companions on this planet since the beginning of time. They have the same basic goals as us. Find food, shelter and a mate, raise a little family and live in peace. At some point humans decided they were superior to the animals; that We as a species have more rights than them. We began caging, domesticating, studying and killing animals for sport. We believe that the animals do not have the sophisticated brain function needed to organize. What if one day the animals start to bite back?

Jackson has been in Africa for 13 years. He works on a Safari Camp where he showcases the beauty and grace of the animals living there in Botswana. He even has a way of thwarting the poachers who pay exorbitant amounts of money to kill for sport. Everyday is as idyllic as the last until the day that the lions start acting strange. A pride of all male lions attacks a neighboring Safari camp. Meanwhile in Los Angeles the lions at the Zoo kill their trainer and break free. What is going on here?

Years ago Jackson’s Father, a Professor, began to form a theory. He began speaking about a “Defiant Pupil”. In his youth Jackson believed his father was speaking about a student you would not listen. However, now viewing the tapes that his father has left behind Jackson’s opinions are changing. Back in Los Angeles Jaime Campbell is investigating what happened at the Zoo. The Zoo recently changed food distributors. Now a company called Riedon Global provides the food. Miss Campbell holds Riedon Global responsible for the death of her Mother. The chemicals used by the this company caused a cancer cluster in her hometown. Could the chemicals Riedon Global uses be contaminating the food and making the animals go mad?

Jackson’s Father thought a time would come when animals would no longer fear us. Is that time upon us now? Reports are coming in from around the world of animals behaving strangely. They are organizing and communicating in ways that have never been witnessed before. In the theory of the “Defiant Pupil” it is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. That changing your perception of things changes the way that you act. The animal’s perception of us is changing. What will happen next? Tuesday nights are getting wild on CBS with Zoo at 9/8c
