Welcome to Stuff I Learned Yesterday. My name is Darrell Darnell, I drink 2 mugs of decaf coffee during each recording session of Person of Interest Podcast, and I believe that if you aren’t learning, you aren’t living. In today’s episode of Stuff I Learned Yesterday I’m pleased to bring you another installment of the Friday Forum.
Today’s fun fact: Today is National Open an Umbrella Indoors Day! Did you know that the word umbrella comes from the Latin word “umbros” which means shade or shadow? Modern day widespread acceptance of umbrellas started to spread across Europe in the middle of the 18th century. Up until that point, umbrellas were viewed as a female fashion accessory. The first man who publicly carried an umbrella was Englishman Jonas Hanway. His influence finally introduced umbrella to male population of England, and soon after entire world.
Before I go on I want to again take a moment to thank every one of you that helped get Stuff I Learned Yesterday, Arrow Squad and The Blacklist Exposed nominated for a 2015 Podcast Award. It’s incredible that we have three Golden Spiral Media podcasts in the running this year and I’m very humbled to be listed amongst so many other great shows.
