In this weeks episode of The Leslie Nielsen Spoofs Podcast, Cory and Nathan fight evil with comedy as they discuss “Repossessed.”

The film opens with a stereo effects ‘bumper’ with the logo “BFD”; a parody of the Lucasfilm “THX” sound system bumper.
After the success of Airplane! / Flying High, Leslie Nielsen went on to appear in many comedy roles, including the Police Squad TV series and it’s movie Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad among many other comedic and drama performances in both film and television. Repossessed came out a year before Naked Gun 2 1/2 : The Smell of Fear.
Linda Blair is best known for her role as the possessed child, Regan, in the film The Exorcist (1973), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award and won a Golden Globe. She reprised her role in Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977), for which she was nominated for a Saturn Award. In addition, Ned Beatty also appeared in Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). In the late 1980s, she worked in numerous low-budget horror films, including Grotesque (1988), opposite Tab Hunter, and the Italian production Witchery(1988), opposite David Hasselhoff. The following year, she starred in the romantic comedy Up Your Alley opposite Murray Langston, and the Exorcist spoof Repossessed in 1990. She would also appear in several Australian b-movies in the early 1990s, including Fatal Bond and Dead Sleep (both 1992). She also had an uncredited cameo in Scream as an obnoxious reporter.
In the Exorcist Linda Blair played a girl named Reagan. In this movie her name is Nancy. Nancy Reagan.
The Exorcist was again parodied in Scary Movie 2 (2001). Leslie Nielsen appeared in Scary Movie 3 (2003) and Scary Movie 4 (2006).
When Father Mayii (Leslie Nielsen) is speaking to the class, sitting in the front row dressed in a different outfit, and with her hair done differently and wearing glasses is Linda Blair playing another role in the film.
The rock’n’roll music video-esque performance is a spoof of Robert Palmer’s popular music video for his hit song Addicted To Love, although other musicians like Elton John and Michael Jackson are spoofed in the scene as well.
Cindy Valentine (Valentine Cinzia Leone) is an Italian born composer, producer and performing artist, raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada who is now a U.S. citizen, residing primarily in New York, New York. Valentine hit the Billboard Dance/Club charts in 1987 and 1989 with “Secret Rendez-Vous” and “Pick Up the Pieces (To My Heart)”, both songs co-written by Tony Green and Cindy Valentine. Valentine also co-wrote the songs, “Finest Hour” and “Never Gonna Be the Same Again” for the 1989 Halloween classic, Teen Witch and played the part of Shana the Rock Star in the film. As a composer and performer, additional soundtrack credits include: Repossessed (1990), Mannequin Two: On the Move (1991), and Another 9 1/2 Weeks (1997).
