In this very special edition of Central City Underground, we had the pleasure of chatting with Chad Rook who is set to guest star in the pilot episode of The Flash (airing October 8, by the way). Chad will be portraying Clyde Mardon, aka Weather Wizard, and he has a lot of fantastic things to say not only about the show itself and the creative team involved in making it happen, but also about the comic universe and how he came to undertake the role of Barry Allen’s first villainy foe.
Chad has a number of projects going on right now, and a lot more in the pipeline. When his acting career didn’t take off at the velocity he would have preferred, he began creating his own characters and directing his own projects. Freshly back from the island, Miss Ice rejoins The Shadow in their underground lair with a new transmission! In this episode of Central City Underground, Miss Ice tells us about her adventures on Oahu and the 2014 fan-organized Lost event, then we jump into some DC Comic universe news (Gotham), but the main purpose of this transmission is to discuss the first two issues of [[[Flash: Season Zero]]]. This comic series is written by Andrew Kreisberg, who has had his hands on every single episode of Arrow and is heavily involved in The Flash, and now with this comic we look at what possible relationship it has to the upcoming TV series, if any at all. CCU 06 – Flashpoint Paradox

In this transmission of Underground Radio, Miss Ice and The Shadow watched the DC Comics animated film entitled [[[Flashpoint Paradox]]], the film that kicked off the New 52 comic series. We start with our initial reactions to the movie, but very quickly dive into discussing the logistics of time travel and the relevant paradoxes that are at play.
Our discussion starts off a little timey whimey, but there is an interesting discrepancy that holds our attention for a great deal of the conversation. The movie, at large, was entertaining, but we struggled with seeing how the events actually came about to provoke the events that occur when Barry wakes up at his keyboard in the alternate timeline. Both Barry and Zoom are aware of the previous timeline, while Barry must adjust to the new timeline, it seems as though Zoom is well-immersed. Read more…

As a long time listener of Arrow Squad and a very active member of the Arrow community, it was our pleasure to talk with The Flash about where his interest in the comic book character began, how it evolved, and what draws him in most about the guy. Who needs an hour long of commercial free jazz when Central City Underground needs to transmit? We’re back with another transmission! In this special edition of Central City Underground we spend a lot of time talking about how a lot of casting news is revealing a broader arc of DC characters and what that possibly means for the show itself. There are six weeks left before the premiere and we already know a good chunk of the heroes and villains set to be introduced!
We also hear from two other Underground agents lying low in the area. XForce11 and False Tympanic send in their own transmissions and it is awesome to hear that they each are staying strong in the midst of so much uncertainty.
