Agents of SHIELD Season 5 Episode 19 Review: Option Two
In choosing “Option Two” in this week’s Agents of SHIELD, Coulson turns this episode into a wonderful, horror-style survival story. How ironic given his own survival is in question and Daisy and May move forward with their plan to save him. The fallout from some of the conflicts within the group get their due this week as things are clearly gearing up for the big finale. Will it be a season or series finale?
Join us for show news, commentary and analysis for “Option Two,” Faith’s CoulSass moments, and our listener feedback segment! This week we talk about Mack’s focus on the present, Deke’s underappreciated skills, Daisy’s inconvenient absence, Talbot’s surprising rise to power, Fitz’ “canary in the coal mine” theory, and Elena’s realization about the uselessness of having killed Ruby.

I wonder if the reduced Avengers mention is another sign of the final season?
I definitely think Coulson undermined Daisy unintentionally when he took back the lead; had he took back command when they found him it would have been one thing but doing it in this episode felt like a step backwards for all because Daisy needs to learn how to handle rogue agents and the Trouble Trio needed to learn she’s their boss at that moment not just a friend they can run over so I feel Phil mess up with that choice.
“The gravity of the situation?” – well played Mike!
I get why Elena brought up Bahrain but it’s a different situation.
It would be awesome if Diechen showed back up; it’ll probably be in a flashback if they do versus her now though. I agree with Mike, it’s all probably coming down in the final(e).
I would love to see Deke stay just to kick start a debate over multiverse and straight line time travel; if he disappears that means straight line either because Fitz or Simmons died as even with straight line he should still be there as he would be born to travel back, if he’s not born did he travel back would be the question and again if he did wouldn’t that be more multi than straight? Ha. Maybe his hair color changes or his name changes to nod to a straight line with the loop broken, that would be new. 🙂 As for Fitz and Jemma dying, a twist would be if Fitz went out as they sat up Jemma the first go around; I’d be surprised with 3 episodes left of one of them went out at this point as I feel a bigger payoff would have been one dying at the refinery in previous episodes given their whole invincible kick but also if this is the final season it wouldn’t shock me either as that’s just easy drama and writers love easy drama at times.
Only May and Daisy can drive Lola. 🙂
Not a lot of must repeat sass this week so I’m passing on the poll.
Also Ruby has 8% in her.
