Anything For You was a character study to see how far our Gothamites would go for the people they loved. Butch was caught in-between the boss he respected, Penguin, and the woman he loves, Tabitha. He can’t have both. What will he do?
Anything For You:
Butch is fit to be tied after Ed took his place. He has sacrificed so much for Penguin. He is willing to do anything to get back where he was. So He resurrects the Red Hood gang to give Mayor Cobblepot a bad name. Then he takes out the statue of Oswald’s mother. He at last wants to threaten Oswald’s life. But Ed is on the case and is hot on the Hood’s trail. Butch has to take out the Hood’s before Ed finds out. At last Butch is forced to decide is his love for Tabitha stronger than he desire for power over Penguin? It looks like Tabitha wants to help because she comes to Butch’s rescue later.
Anything for Oswald:
Ed is taking his chief of staff roll every seriously. When Oswald is threatened, Ed gets to work. He will not let anything or anyone get in his way. He imposes himself on the GCPD and throws his weight around forcing Barnes and crew to turn over info to him. He quickly learns that Buch is behind everything and makes a plan. Ed gets Victor Zsasz and crew to kidnap Tabitha. He offers Butch power by saying “kill Penguin and rule Gotham with me.” Butch refuses because he does not respect Ed. So then it is kill Penguin or Tabitha dies.
Butch would do anything for love including killing his boss to save Tabitha. Butch dawns the Red Hood and shoots at Penguin. But Ed had loaded the gun with blanks Butch is shown for his true motives and Ed now sealed the bromance and trust with Oswald. Ed has more power and pull. What will he do with that? Anything goes!
Anything For Selina:
Bruce has taken the things 5 said to heart. He enlists Jim’s help to find Ivy. He displays he detective skills and observes Jim has been seeing a woman, not Lee. He is not content to listen to the GCPD he wants answers about Ivy to take to Selina. Both Selina and Bruce see and talk with Ivy but don’t recognize her. They head on to the roof to have a private word. Bruce takes Jim’s advice and tells Selina how he feels about her. She won’t be told with to do or feel, but it looks like she listened to 5 as well. No Bruce and 5 have had a kiss with Selina.
Anything For Friends:
Jim takes Bruce as a client. They go straight to the GCPD and to Harvey. Harvey tells the tale of the construction worker Ivy knocked out (but didn’t kill) and shows them Ivy’s sweater. But explains that the woman that attacked was in her 20’s. Jim has a heart to heart with Lee. He knows who she is marring and just wants her to be happy. With no leads Bruce and Jim have a heart to heart over lunch. They both trade advice on women. Each grow from it. Jim is making progress. He goes to Valerie’s meeting with a lab tech. (She is trying to learn more about Alice’s blood.) He runs the guy off telling her he has what she needs and makes her buy him dinner.
Closing Thoughts:
We get to see Jervis slip into full Mad Hatter mode making new Alice’s. We see that Alice’s blood has made Barnes strong again, but when will the crazy kick in? I’m really loving this season. I can hardly keep up taking notes on the episode. The writers are doing a great job weaving stories together. Anything For You saw a lot of growth for Jim and for Bruce, but will Oswald’s growing dependance on Ed be anything but bad news? We will just have to wait and see!
