Lex Luthor is wielding the power of three ancient gods of Leviathan. Gememnea escaped the bottle because she is pure technology. She could not be defeated in the same way. Dreamer has made it to Brainy’s location to find him on the brink of death. Alex arrives and administers a treatment for the radiation poisoning. The treatment allows Brainy’s head to clear enough to tell the team about the anti-life equation. It has the power to defeat pure technology which is what Gememnea is. Each member of the team has their strengths and together they must fight to save this world.
Lex has changed Lena’s do no harm program to the I love Lexi upgrade. Half of the population will adore him regardless of his actions and the others that were not logged in during the unity festival will die. This would include his sister but she killed him first so he considers that fair. Supergirl wants to save the world even if it means sacrificing her life. She agrees to surrender in exchange for the codes to disable the satellites that Lex launched into space. Dreamer sees a possible scenario where Lex is ending worlds Anti-Monitor style.
If these satellites are not disabled simultaneously they are each equipped to fire missiles at Earth. M’gann suggests a Martian binding ritual so what they do to one satellite will affect all of them. Supergirl heads to the fortress to face Lex. Also stored in the kryptonian stronghold is an artifact from the Leviathan home planet. The only substance capable of stripping Lex of his immortality.
After an epic battle Lex thinks he has won. He has overloaded Kara’s body with kryptonite, however Lena has developed a new addition to the super suit to provide extra protection to our Maid of Steel. Kara Zor El does not work alone and just as Lillian Luthor predicted our super friends have found the only element that can restore her son’s mortality.
In the face of victory there is also defeat. Lex Luthor is a mortal man once again but the cost was high. Kara is once again trapped in The Phantom Zone. Her coordinates in that vast dark place are unknown. One thing we know for sure, Supergirl‘s friends and her beloved sister will never give up on her. Alex has been given a new title by J’onn. She will serve the tower as the Sentinel. All together the team will keep the world safe in our Maid of Steel’s absence. Please join Silver Vox and me your eye in the sky as we launch into season six of Supergirl. Have a super week!

Some blog post comments…
The banner photo feels appropriate this week as you have a bunch of colored plastic suits standing around doing nothing; when does season six actually start again, episode 3? I’m ready for it! Season five is the WORST so far; although to be fair season six doesn’t sound fabulous either with concepts they’re pushing.
“She will serve the tower as the Sentinel.” – ??????
On to the podcast…
We shouldn’t have seen this garbage, it never should have made the air ha. It will be interesting to see what season six really is, is it as horrible as it sounds or kind of decent? Still not holding my breath. 🙂
I’m excited for Maid Of Steel but not necessarily “Supergirl” sadly.
Bring on the “Midvale” and “Reign” discussions! 😀
I’m going to wait for the DVD to see the Snyder Cut because I hear Wonder Woman is treated way better in it and I want to see that. 🙂
You’re committed to a Snyder Cut bonus episode now. Ha.
Oh yes to Alex being made a House Of El member Leslie! 😀
Kelly as Guardian just proves again why I say there’s no care for this series anymore. Kelly told James Guardian was dumb but she’s going to put the suit on? Kelly has PTSD about a fiancée dying but she’s going to risk her life in a tun can? We’re suppose to get Kelly content we want but no fan in their right mind asked for that because again we hated with James so why would we like it with her?! If they were going to do this why not throw it in the trash pile that is season five and just have the season suck even more?! NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS, YOUR EGO IS SHOWING WRITERS! ? Two middle fingers to you as well sits and madams. This is just absolute insanity now. Also everyone in a suit makes no one in a suit special I’ll just say it; first they ruined Alex with one and now they’re doing it to Kelly because they’re Hell bent on having Guardian in this for some reason even though if fans agree on one thing as unity it’s we don’t care about that plot. UGH!!! ?
The whole freaking reason we wanted James gone was because he was Guardian and did nothing! They (writers) just don’t get it or they just don’t care; making Kelly Guardian will not help her and so when people dislike her you have no one to blame but yourself. *shakes head*
No “Supergirl” fan has ever wanted Guardian in format.
Lena will be Kelly’s Winn probably. ?Alex will find it hot because even without the OTP you can see coming a mile away she would be into. I agree John – NO THANK YOU TO THIS!
Lol to John not making it through the synopsis. 🙂
“There’s some good stuff here.” – WHERE Justina?!
“This hurt my eyes…and my brain.” – ha; seconded.
The other side when we’re watching season one again John? Ha.
Alex doesn’t need a secret identity because who’s she trying to hide from? Eliza knows who she is or could be, Kara knows, Kelly will, and Lena so who’s the plot for? Is it people she interrogated at the DEO – they know what she looks like! There’s no reason for her to have a secret identity especially because there is no secret given she worked in the open if you will for years; this is a stupid plot and nothing more, she went from being special because she didn’t need a suit to yet another face in the crowd if you will who now has to try and work to stand out. *sigh*
I’ll take it back Justina, there was ONE good thing this episode – Nia.
You are SO on point this week Daryl! 🙂
If they used Kelly the way she was originally pitched they would have to do character development and explore topics and the writers just can’t care about that anymore…it’s all just colored suits and explosions now tragically.
I can’t enjoy things with this show anymore, sorry; maybe the acting at times will do something but character and plot wise they are showing me no reason to care so they’ve taken all my enjoyment and just thrown it away. What’s occurring now is starting to taint the past and that’s not good; all I can see is how far the show has fallen and it just makes me SO sad. It’s especially sad because it’s easily avoidable stuff like not doing Guardian because NO ONE asked for that! Alex doesn’t need a suit but they put her in one and took her from special to average at best. When is the last time we actually saw Kara? Like two years ago now depending on if you feel she was even in character so it could be more than that. It’s just so depressing to be here; add all of this to how they treat the series in promotion (especially since Clark came into play) and I’m just about as low as I can go and I hate that for this series because it had SUCH potential in season one and even some potential still to build off season three stuff. Much like with “Batwoman” and them going reboot over recast their ego has lead to their downfall and it’s just a shame so much was lost because of it.
We kind of have been watching “Supergirl” without the title character Leslie as again when’s the last time you saw Kara do anything actually memorable? She was just there again this episode with Lena, M’gann, and Nia doing the actual work. Lex was again a focus also so what did Kara really do that screamed lead; this is kind of like the later seasons of “Arrow” when we saw more of the newbies instead of Oliver but at least there Oliver was trying to retire you could argue and Kara isn’t – it’s just bad handling of the character (one of many).
Kara can only stay in the Phantom Zone for like 3 episodes max because people are going to want to see their lead…we’ve been waiting 2 years as it is to see her so yeah they need to make it short but I won’t hold my breath when it comes to these writers; negativity again I know but they’ve made me this way.
it has always bothered me how kara never asked alex to come to argo city with her especially once we find out that clark took lois which means humans can go. i actually would have been satisfied to see kara ask alex and maybe alex refuses but we never see that. she just goes straight to taking mon-el
They probably did it off screen so we’ll just see Alura say “Alexandra Danvers…honorary member of the House Of El” versus actually ever seeing it.
one other disappointment i have is that kara never introduced lena to alura. lena is standing two feet from alura in one scene yet she never gets an introduction. you could really chalk it up to the fact that lena doesn’t know at that point and the show couldn’t risk lena hearing supergirl’s name as kara. it still should have happened. just another way kara is keeping her “best friend” at arm’s length
